If you want to get away from the downtown "what's cool at the newest brewery" vibe, head over to Salvatore's. We are from out of town, here for a 2 day event and found this hidden gem. Amazing food, obviously homemade and delicious. We had the spinach artichoke dip and a pizza with a couple meatballs as a side because the waitress said they were amazing. Honestly, the meatballs were good, but the app and pizza were amazing. We're already joking about possibly going back there tomorrow night as well. Great food, a busy place, and we love supporting the real stores vs. the chains. You won't be disappointed.

Ordered one 16-in pepperoni, jalapeno, fresh basil pizza carryout for about $18. The dough/crust is pretty good overall, the pizza is all right, but why is there so many jalapenos on it? I have no idea why it's outnumbering the other toppings like four to one. There's literally jalapenos on top of jalapenos and canned ones at that, not fresh. It's like a jalapeno pizza and not what I had in mind at all, disappointed.

Went for lunch and enjoyed spaghetti and meatballs. Came with a salad or soup. My companion had the salad and I had the homemade chicken noodle soup. Excellent. The spaghetti also came with garlic bread. Neither of us could finish and we both had leftovers for the next day. Great server. This is a family owned restaurant since I was young. With the high reviews I expected something better. I ordered the chicken parm and bruschetta app. The pasta does not taste fresh made which is why I'll frequent an Italian place. The sauce was very sweet. My chicken was very dry and stringy, it was swimming in sauce which still didn't mask the dry meat. I am extremely disappointed. I'm new to the area and was hoping for fresh Italian close by. The Bruschetta was really good but not enough to make me return.

Food is decent but service and staff is horrible. Went in and order pasta , subs and a salads and waited 45 mins for a carry out & and the staff attitude towards the wait was dreadful, speaking as if nag to try to justify the situation. The place wasn’t even packed with a lot of people. The food wasn’t even correct order two full pastas and one wasn’t even close to half. Definitely not holding up to their reviews

On arrival it was a tad frustrating finding parking as the parking lot has only enough spots for 15-20 cars max but additional parking is available across the street.Entering Salvatore’s Restaurant reminded me of an Olive Garden- wanna be. Directly to your right is a section where a ton of outside plants sit on tables near a window. We waited to be seated, and put in a booth right by the main entry/exit door on this very cold/snowy.All staff appear to be about 15, which is fine but we had a new employee whom did not multitask very well. (But she was trying her very best) I ordered wine & my husband ordered a beer. Upon delivery of my wine we are informed they are out of the beer my husband ordered. We ordered the Steak Nicolette $16.99eaComes with soup (chicken noodle) or side salad. Caesar salad available for added cost. The side salad was a nice portion & had 2pc’s of pepperoni on it. Nice little touch. Our dinners were served shortly we finished our salads. A concern I had since there was a party of 8-12 people next to us that were there before we arrived. Our meals came out first & I was thankful for that as I was not feeling my best. The meal came with very large pieces of garlic bread, 1/3 the plates of fresh cooked green beans (which had a lovely crunch to them.) I asked for steak sauce (they don’t have steak sauce) but meal came with a small side cup of dried tomato (very tasty) and linguine was on the other 1/3 of the plate. It looked a tad bland but was very flavorful. The star was the steak. Cooked Med Rare & was actually cooked to perfection. The steak literally melted in my mouth & despite being full I had to finish it, it was just too darn delish! The deserts looked yummy and we contemplated bringing a few home but decided against it. (Had the waitress asked… we probably would have)All in all…. It was worth what we paid and would go again but 37min drive from our home would limit those visits.

Hands down the BEST pizza in Grand Rapids. You HAVE to order a pizza with onion, fresh garlic, ham, and homemade sausage. D-E-LISH!!! We currently live out state, but every time we are in town, this is ALWAYS our first stop. Their Itlian Margarita is a MUST try!

I like to explore different restaurants based off of Google reviews, and we decided to give Salvatores a try considering. However it's Google reviews did not reflect the experience: bland food and slow service. Took 45 minutes to bring out main entree on a Tuesday evening with only 3 other tables. Food didn't taste bad in any way, it just didn't have any flavor. Staff was in the same way, not above and beyond friendly but also not rude in any way.

Had lunch today. Our server was very sweet and very good. We ordered the lasagna and seafood Alfredo. Wonderful on all accounts. Left with leftovers. Nowadays it's hard to find a meal that tastes like your mother made it. Huge compliments to the chef!! You are missing out if you haven't stopped into this gem. Subs looked amazing (as we eyeballed another tables order)!! Thumbs up! Be back soon😊 Thankyou Salvatore's.

Wonderful place to stop for dinner. Excellent food! Staff is friendly and it’s a comfortable place to stop. Wild love to go in the summer and eat outside.
