All the throw-backs to a classic diner of yesteryear! Great decor, friendly staff, and the food was fresh and delicious. Our visit on Plainfield was pleasant and unassuming. My wife and I both ordered the soup and salad buffet, which was fresh, clean, and very tasty! The room itself was reminiscent of a 1950's diner, with hard-leather seating and throw-back advertising, which was really kind-of cool! The food was good and the pricing was right. All good. You could tell there were a good amount of "regulars" there, as the staff knew them by name, so I felt a little put-off by being "new," but I get it.Family-friendly, good prices, and very wholesome. A winner in my book!
The five of us who had not seen each other for years were seated promptly at an out-of-the-way booth early afternoon on a Saturday in August. Service was attentive; thanks, Dana! All of the diverse food that we ordered tasted great. Onion rings were prepared well. The perch sandwich ($11) with cole slaw was particularly good flavored.
Two couples stopped for supper. Service was very good, and the food was super. Three piece chicken dinners were great. Dessert was fantastic.
Russ' on Plainfield NEVER disappoints. We live down the street and go here a few times a month. The food quality is always excellent and service is great! Tonight I had a Western burger with fries and a slice of carmel pecan apple pie (served warm) and ala mode...oh my goodness, it was all so amazing!
Our wait person was the best. She smiled, spoke very kindly, got our order right the first time. She was just very kind and attentive. The food was hot and tasty. Everything was perfect.
Of all the russ restaurants this may be the coziest with it's wooden dividers. Food dependable, staff nice. It was a very busy night but we didn't mind the wait.
Simple food done well. Best coleslaw ever. Meatloaf sandwich is great. Great soups, small salad bar that's more of a soup bar, awesome desserts.Definitely kid-friendly.
Phoned in order and was told 10 minutes. Got there in 10 minutes and decided to go through drive through to pick up. Wait 10 more minutes in line before deciding to go inside. Food was not ready when went inside. 25 minutes for a quick order that was suppose to take 10 minutes. Food was warm not hot.
Russ' is a west Michigan standard. I enjoy the fried clams. The restaurant is clean, friendly, and pleasant. Stop in sometime, you won't be disappointed.
Our meals were very good, but our server was The Best! Lauren hustled between tables, yet giving each and every one the attention that they deserved!
