All we heard were excuses. "Not enough people to do the work. Too many tables for the waitress to handle. Didn't know you were set in my section. Waiting on someone else's table...." I am the customer! I should not hear about the problems! Just make me feel welcomed and that, at that moment, I am the most important person you will care for. If you feel you need to apologize, just say "I am so sorry" and then take Great care of the rest of my experience.
First time ever I had a bad meal. My creamed turkey on a bun was less than creamed. It was dry and crusty and tasted bad. Sent it back, did not reorder. I've been getting this sandwich for as long as I can remember and was shocked by the lack of quality control and that someone would let that leave the kitchen.
One car in front of me at the drive thru. The car in front of me and I both waited 25 minutes. Then when I received the food it was completely cold. How can that happen? The food must have just been sitting there getting cold while I was waiting for the other car to be served. Been going to Russ' for 50 years. Never had anything like this before. Might as well go to McDonalds if I want poor quality service.
When I was traveling out of town to Grand Rapids I always stopped at Russ's for great food and great ambiance. Whether it was breakfast lunch or dinner I was never disappointed.
Wasn't the best. Gave me big boy vibes. The staff is nice enough but when we decided to change our minds to get desert they never came back. The food was not the greatest. Just not somewhere I'm gonna go back to.
A long time player in the Grand Rapids restaurant scene. Always good food and good service. Food seems freshly prepared and always tasty. Prices are fair and the menu is varied and has lots of choices. A great value for your food dollar
I was really surprised at how much I enjoyed this restaurant. The staff were knowledgeable an very friendly. They have updated computer systems for taking orders and the prices are extremely reasonable. I loved the food and it was not overpriced.
The food was absolutely delicious, and filled me up. Great service and relaxing atmosphere.
Perfect Ruben and onion rings! They went so fast, i have no picture! The sweet potato fries were fantastic.
11/19/21 @ 8pm. Stopped by as I had a gift card. Food was awful. Wife had a Ruben w/o cheese; extra kraut. It came with just corned beef and a tiny bit of of kraut and no sauce. Had to request additional kraut and sauce. Not really a big deal but fairly simple instructions to follow.I had fried chicken dinner with rings and mashed potatoes. The chicken was literally so dry that it was inedible. The potatoes were ok but the gravy was spilled all over the edge of the bowl and made a huge mess on the table. The rings were good. All in all, it was not good. Service was mediocre. I understand most places were understaffed but there were several young ladies just standing at the register talking the entire time and we were seated directly behind the register. Some gentleman had to walk up and ask for his server to come over so they could order dessert as they had been waiting. Lastly, when it was time to pay, we waited and waited at the register but everyone disappeared. We nearly just walked out before someone finally stopped by to take our money.Doubtful that we'll return. My wife had pictures of the pathetic pieces of chicken.
