Good food and wonderful ambience especially when the John Shea Trio is playing on Saturdays night.
We celebrated a special birthday dinner last weekend at Noto's. It was our first time at the restaurant. While it was definitely a classy place, two of our dishes were disappointing and no one ever asked about the birthday despite our mentioning it during the reservation process. All in all, quite disappointing given its high-end status and the prices.
We had high hopes for Notos but we ended up leaving. We had to wait for 10 minutes to be seated for our reservations while the host “found some menus”. The menus we were given were filthy - stained with food. We then sat at our table for another 20 minutes without being greeted, given a wine list, or offered water. My husband got up to find someone. We overheard the host tell another server (manager maybe) that the server said she was “too busy” and couldn’t take us. So this server/manager told us it was our lucky day and that we got her. It was in fact not our lucky day, we continued to wait for her to return. When she did, she was less than helpful with the wine list and bordered on rude when she went to ask the bartender for an answer to our question. At that point, we left. Maybe the food would have been the saving grace but honestly, we didn’t want to give our business to Notos. They were not short staffed, just under managed. Very disappointing.
Live music is awesome. We typically good to enjoy the John Shea Trio
Excellent food, drinks, atmosphere all wonderful
Great service, great dinner, gracious host. Really enjoyed our dinner and tour of the beautiful facilities.
Extremely disappointed. I have been visiting your Cascade location for many years and always had great service and food therefore I referred many of my friends. My husband and I decided to try your Grand Heaven Restaurant a year ago for Valentines but unfortunately our main entrees were awful. This Valentines we decided to give it another chance but my husband prime rib was like rubber. We don’t like to complain but we think you should know. We won’t be back to your GH location. Is too bad since this was the first time for my husband.
The family owned Noto’s Old World Italian Restaurant is STILL on the TOP OF THEIR GAME! Despite Michigan’s restaurant restrictions because of Covid-19, NOTO’s is still doing it perfectly! My husband and I visited this evening to celebrate our 40th anniversary. Dining out has been non-existent for the last 6 months. We were confident that we could enjoy a dinner out because of Noto’s experience in the restaurant industry in Grand Rapids. We were SO NOT disappointed. Yes, the menu is a little more limited, but, the plus side is that everything was PERFECTLY PREPARED, PERFECTLY PRESENTED AND PERFECTLY SERVED! The entire restaurant, bar and music room are correctly social distanced. I noticed servers and management consistently using hand sanitizer. Masks are required for all employees as well as diners entering, leaving their table to use the restroom and departing. I truly felt SAFE DINING AT NOTO’S! As far as a somewhat more limited menu, Noto’s has chosen, correctly in my opinion, to offer what they can serve perfectly! Yes, I truly missed their wonderful braised lamb shank, I sincerely hope they can offer it again in the future. During these very strange times, Noto’s has chosen to do what they do best! Offer perfectly prepared salads, fresh and crispy, perfectly prepared entrees and sides, no soggy vegetables here! KUDOS TO NOTO’S for making the right choices, serving their perfectly wonderful food and EVERY EMPLOYEE SAYING THANK YOU FOR DINING WITH US!!!
The owner personally supervised everything. Food was good. (Phenomenal wine cave for those who wished to purchase wine.) Space was generous. Sound system worked well. Staff was friendly.
Good food. Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff. Part of the established restaurant scene in Grand Rapids. What more does one need?
