Not a huge fan of the specialty items, as most things were named something personalized with uncommon items added to the rolls. The atmosphere was decent, one roll I enjoyed most was The Crazy Ex Girlfriend. The crab Rangoon dip was tasty but won't be satisfying if you're looking for that classic deep fried wonton, crab and cream cheese mixture. It can be a great place for special occasions, I'll give it that

Our dinner at maru was so delicious! We were going to try more but just decided to get a bunch of different sushi rolls. We sat at the bar/counter and I have to say it was very enjoyable to see the cooks at work rolling away. Plus! You get to see all the other delicious looking things to try next time. Because there will be ALOT more next times!!!*Also we got one of the best desserts I have ever had! Red velvet creme brulee. Trust me, this is a must have!!!???

Loved the trip to Maru today! Just like Ando, there is a great selection of sushi and other items for those who don't want sushi. The nirvana roll lives up to it's name! This was also our first experience with sake and it was great to have a flight option for that. All around a great experience, don't hesitate if you need a sushi fix!

Our server, Julie was so beyond sweet and genuine. She gave great service. She came up to our table at the right times and was honest and sincere. Our food was delicious and great quality. We will definitely be back again. As service industry people, great service like this means the world to us.

Absolutely stunning quality, flavor, and presentation. It is a smidge on the pricier side, but very good. Staff were wonderful. I would recommend calling ahead for reservations. We weren’t allowed to order drinks at the bar while waiting -it was for diners only.

Great sushi and wine!!!!!

service was extremly slow but everything elts was amazing the crab dip was sooo good. and the beef tenderloin was perfict

Overall, Maru sushi is a good place to eat. The seating is a little awkward just because traffic goes right in between the tables, but no restaurant is perfect. Besides that, the food is good. The wait staff is very friendly and attentive. The hostess was prompt and friendly. If you are looking to get a booth, I would suggest making a reservation in advance. Not the best sushi in town, but pretty damn close.

The best sushi that I’ve had in Michigan so far. The yellowtail and tuna nigiri tasted fresh. The two rolls that I had were excellent as well. Our waitress was personable and made some great recommendations.

Maru never disappoints with their food, and this past month we had some of the best food in years there. Our server was an absolute delight, I wish I could recall her name but she was attentive, had a bursting personality, and actually seemed like she was HAPPY to be working (customer service has gone downhill in the past 2-3 years, even pre-Covid). So thank you! This past summer, our group of 2 toddlers and 4 adults was also a delight! We sat outside, and the toddlers tried some avocado sushi rolls (see the photo of kid-friendly roll). It was fun! A great time had by all.My only suggestion- can you reopen for lunch?? :)
