The most helpful staff, of which I so appreciate anytime I have a question! Going down the rabbit hole of learning to cook and eat meat again was a challenge, but Louise Earl aided significantly by giving me cooking tips and places to start. Everything is top notch quality, and I am thrilled to know how well they source and vet farms. Worth every penny.

This is the absolute best butcher shop in the Grand Rapids area. Everything is from organic ethically raised animals. Trust me you can tell the difference from supermarket meats. They always have a great selection of freshly butchered meat. I watched one of their butchers throw a whole lamb on the block when I was there today. They have many fresh and smoked sausages to choose from. All are top notch quality. You can taste the quality of the ingredients and the attention to detail. I can never decide what to get so I usually walk out with a package of each sausage in the case. I'm just bummed the review it limited to five stars. They deserve more!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We absolutely love Louise Earl. It is our local butcher shop and we count on them especially for special occasions - we always get our turkey breast here for Thanksgiving as well as filets for Christmas and anniversary dinners. But quite honestly, everything is high quality and very good. (Their deli turkey is excellent!)During the pandemic, we made a decision to stop buying meats processed by the companies that disregarded their employees' lives and well-being (looking at Cargill, Tyson Foods, JBS, and National Beef Packing). That meant no more grocery store bacon or sausage, so we have ended up buying almost all of our meat at Louise Earl instead. We are supporting a local business and we appreciate that they work with local farmers. The service is impeccable; the staff is always friendly and helpful, especially if they happen to be out of something and we need a recommendation for an alternative cut. We also greatly appreciate how thoughtful and considerate they have been during the pandemic, first by only offering curbside pickup and then ensuring their staff is masked.

Best butcher I've ever been to. Top quality stuff and they recently expanded to sell alcohol and host events! Owned by a super nice local couple. This place is the bomb!

One of my favorite stops in all of GR. The staff is always super helpful and quick to answer questions or make suggestions. Between LE and the Fulton St Market - I rarely need to shop anywhere else. Super grateful for a butcher that is high quality, local, and affordable.

Walked by lots of times and thought I’d stop by and try them. I like that they sell locally raised beef and pork. Purchased sausage to grill, they look delicious, anxious to try them.Update…tried them, delicious!

My favorite butcher around Grand Rapids! The staff is super helpful, you can get just about anything here, and they have the best sausages around. I wouldn’t go anywhere else for andouille

Best steak I’ve made and bought in my life. They directed to me to a flat iron and steak and this steak was amazing. Wow I’m impressed!

Excellent quality and friendly / helpful staff. I go here year-round, for offerings from fresh turkey at thanksgiving (turkey "porchetta" is great), excellent bacon or breakfast sausage (among many other varieties), deli meats, and of course in house butchered pork and beef, from ground to dry aged. Unlike some other butchers I have been to, their store is an inviting place, with focused grocery items and barbecuing / grilling supplies, in addition to some ever changing in house prepared foods. You might wait an extra minute between placing your order and getting your food vs a grocery butcher ( a good time to browse everything else), and they may not have everything, every day ( though there is more than you might glance in the case), but both of these reflect that the focus is on quality. Very glad they are around! I would be pretty skeptical of other 1-star reviews from folks with literally no other posts/reviews...

I have been shopping at Louise Earl for years and they are by far the best place to get your meats, sausages, pates, condiments, etc, etc in Grand Rapids. In fact, they remind me of good butcher shops in England or Italy: things are local, seasonal and if something isn't available, there is a very good reason for it.The temper tantrum thrown by some other reviewers here reminded me of a customer I observed losing his cool, when he was told the shop was out of tomatoes for his BLT. In February. Perhaps, it is the same person?
