We just stopped from out of town with the fam. Initially was going to stop at Madcap but it was too busy and it didn’t look like they served anything other than coffee and desert. Decided to take a chance on Local Mocha. Was happy we did. Great food, great coffee and service with a smile. Don’t listen to the naysayers who have an axe to grind….???
Caution: do NOT go here. I've never encountered someone so vile in the way they respond to customers and people in general. Madcap is a much better option!
So I went in to buy a homeless man a cup of coffee and the lady working the counter refused me service due to my service dog who was properly marked even though it's not required I would not recommend getting coffee here she was rude and nasty even went as far as to spit on the ground at my dog's feet we are in a pandemic and this place is horrible I've never been treated that way I am a respected member of the community and was appalled at her outrageous show of ignorance and childish behavior ... Edit as you can see she responded with nonsense ? lady that is fine because I went to madcap coffee ??? and he most certainly is a service dog I can provide you with Ada law if you like but I've already filled out a form to file a lawsuit not only for defamation of character but for refusing a trained service dog that assists me with a disability into the establishment because yes by law you must allow him into the establishment with or without his vest because that is not required by law

I never leave reviews about anyting but this....! I called this coffee shop to get an email address just to send my resume to. The woman who answered was very rude. She said that they weren't hiring and I said, " that's fine I would still like to submit my resume so you could keep it on file in case anything changes in the future", she shot down my request, said they were a very small shop, said she had a customer and hung up on me. Frankly, I'm glad she did that because I wouldn't want to work with someone like that. awful service I give them zero Stars!11/1/21: Well as you can see she has replied and with a vengeance and with a very far fetched recollection of what happened, IN REALITY! Apparently I am lazy (this lady doesn't even know me), she never said a word about Parsley's (liar), I was never told to go to a website- just got a straight shut down when I asked if there was an email I could send a resume to. I don't know what she is talking about in her last insane point that she felt she had to make regarding, "such papers"? I don't know what that means. I wasn't that persistent, really couldn't be, she was "as her reply" to this review, mean and nasty. I asked one time (again) after her rejection the first time, but was interrupted and conversation was done. She was just rude. Her whole approach in defending herself says it all. Bottom line is you don't treat people like that, I would hate to work with her. I'm not surprised that this was how she handled a bad review, nor do I care. Unprofessional, rude and a little psychotic. I need help? Honey its you that needs the help. LOL
Open early. Food is good but I'm hungry still. I eat a lot though.

Some of the best coffee in Grand Rapids (if not the best). I recommend the caramel royale latte, it is delicious! The lady that served me was also very nice.
Pretty nice experience! Got an Iced Matcha Latte and while they didnt add any sweetener which I feel like most places do. I just went back home and added some honey.
Delightful coffee shop and the frappés aren’t watered down!! Rich and chilly, these are delightful!
