Very warm and comfortable environment. Some of the best coffee and pastry I had visiting Grand Rapids. (The cheese danish changed my life.) Plus they're always playing good music!
The espresso is good, ratio of milk to espresso is spot on, which made the Cortado excellent !! - Test PassThe Ambiance is excellent, like the name , lot of cozy lights & chairs , folks can actually work from here.Very friendly staff !!
Absolutely LOVE Lantern it is by far the absolute best coffee shop in that West MI has to offer. I won’t go anywhere else and always recommend Lantern to everyone I come into contact with. Hands down the BEST iced vanilla latte. Also love that they support other local small business’s with baked goods that they bring in. The staff has always been so incredible to me and the owner is just absolutely awesome. If you want the best coffee come here. The atmosphere and the positive welcoming energy is just incredible. Everyday becomes a great day when you go to Lantern. Run don’t walk!!!!
Lantern’s quality is top notch. Syrups are made in house with locally sourced ingredients. Seasonal menu is always creative, and coffees are expertly sourced from the best roasters.Quality aside, Lantern has something no other cafe does. Jon.Jon is not only in touch with the specialty coffee industry at large, he’s also passionate about people. If you’ve been in more than one time, he likely knows your name.Lantern has always been about balancing quality with accessibility and inclusion. Jon embodies this, and has cultivated a community in Grand Rapids that is unique and rare.Negative reviews here usually come from people who have taken issue with mask mandates. Whether you agree or not, leave the small businesses out of it. They’re exhausted. I promise you they’ve already weighed every alternative.
The overwhelming feeling I have always had when walking through Lantern's door is a feeling of home. The atmosphere, friendly staff, and exceptional coffee always provide the comfort one didn't know they needed. I have spent entire days there when I unknowingly stayed until just before they closed, and was always greeted with a genuine smile by the barista behind the counter on my way out. Their dedication to keeping their customers and staff safe does not go unnoticed, and is much appreciated. I highly recommend grabbing a cup of coffee, and staying a while if you're able!
I can't recommend this place enough! The drinks, atmosphere and staff are incredible. If you want great coffee made by staff who genuinely care and know what they're doing and are passionate about it- go here! Forever thankful for this gem here in Grand Rapids.

I don't usually complain but when you buy a $ 7 dollar coffee, for "here" and get it in a paper cup. Come-on. That was a simple request.
