The service and food is absolutely amazing. Extremely relaxing environment absolutely enjoy my time spent.
The food wasn't bad, presentation and taste. What makes it uncomfortable is how small the place is and how close you are sitting to others. The table for 2 is way to small for two people with food and drinks, was spilling stuff just trying to make room for our Items. Wobbly tables didn't help. We had to ask to be moved to a bigger table just to eat comfortably. Staff was pleasant.
Jaku is the best sushi in Grand Rapids. The sashimi is the best you will find this side of the state.The Japanese/Korean menu has something for everyone and for every craving.Just stop reading this review and go now. You have definitely found your new favorite sushi spot!!
Sushi was good. However, restaurant is not up to date on allergy information.I had ordered a couple other dishes and asked the waiter to check if any of these dishes were cooked with dairy due to my daughter (breastfed) being highly allergic to any type of dairy. He checked and I was told that there wasn’t any dairy in the foods… well I took one bite of the fried rice and instantly knew there was butter in it. It ended up being soaked in butter and cooked on the same grill as other things cooked with butter. I sent it back and the waiter ensured me a new one without butter was being cooked… well it ended up being cooked on the same cook top as other things with butter. This could have been very fatal for my daughter if I wouldn’t have noticed and had to be persistent about asking.
Went around lunch time on a Saturday and had no wait. It was so hard to choose what to eat because everything sounded amazing! We ended up going with tempura California roll, salmon avocado roll, and splitting a bulgogi bento box. It was the perfect amount for our party of two and we demolished every bit of it! We were greeted and served with great customer service and quality sushi/food too. Can’t wait to be able to come back and try more!
I didn’t like it at all, the Iceland Volcano roll had a very awful taste because of the torched salmon; Special California was like steamed vegetables in a roll, the veggie roll was nothing special and the spicy salmon roll was not spicy and there was barely salmon in it.Very disappointing experience. And it was expensive for what we had!
Great dining experience. The children loved it too. Fast, and friendly. Food was excellent.
We had such an amazing and delicious dinner our first time that we had to go back for seconds! The food is always so good and the service was excellent! Trevor W. took great care of us and made great recommendations. We ordered the Gyoza, Kosho and the Chicken and Shrimp Hibachi. We left stuffed and very happy and can’t wait to go back again.
Delicious and nutritious Bento box lunches! I just discovered this place today on my way home from my dentist office. I'm not usually in this area, so I am always looking for a great place to eat Sushi and Sashimi, and I'm fussy about Japanese cuisine, having been stationed temporarily in Okinawa, Japan. Loved the variety of nutritious and tasty cuisine that was in my Bento box. Very much appreciated, and even low sodium it seemed. 5 stars in my book!
