Great chicken! High marks all around -- personable waitstaff, clean and comfortable setting, excellent food, and good prices. You can get your chicken at a varying heat scale, and the waffle fries are crispy and perfectly seasoned.
Really nice outdoor seating, and the chicken is excellent. We usually get 1/2 traditional, 1/2 hotter and a variety of sides. The adult slushies are tasty too!
I just did Take Out this evening, and arrived home to find that part of my order is missing. Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time. I get it, everyone makes a mistake, but now that it’s happened twice, what’s going on? First time, our Coleslaw wasn’t in the bag. I called Hancock to advise, and I received an apology. No offer for money back and no coleslaw.This time I ordered Waffle Fries and asked for Ketchup. I received the Ketchup (yay!), but no fries. ?I live about 4 miles away, so it’s not worth running back over there just to have the chicken cold when I get back home. I love their food, their people are nice and friendly, but SLOW DOWN! Triple check the orders to be sure everything is in the bag. Please!
Went here and the food was hot and delicious! Got the hot chicken tenders but was not impressed by the heat. Will have to try hotter next time. Still very good though, both in terms of taste and service
Nice place. We all really enjoyed the fried chicken sandwiches and the waffle fries. Mac & cheese was small but pretty good. Brussels sprout salad was a bit light on dressing, but it was OK because I had leftover ranch from my sandwich (had subbed it for mayo).And finally, the eclair cup dessert was sweet and shareable. It had delicious vanilla bean pastry cream.Our server Isabelle was very pleasant and patient with our difficult orders (certain family members of mine take forever to order and like to complicate things). She also proactively gave us extra info about the different cheeses used in different dishes when she realized we were interested.

Hands down, The. Best. Fried. Chicken. If you haven’t tried it yet, you should. I’ve had take out and sit down and never was disappointed. Simple but tasty. Had the fried fish and it was very good too. Oh and the service is fantastic too.
I opened my $15 chicken tender basket to find a severe lack of fries. I called them in order to see if they would do anything because I only lived around the block and would have happily gone back and gotten a side order or something. Instead the woman who answered the phone (who was very nice) told me she was going to get her manager. I waited in silence for about a minute, heard some murmurs from a different voice (I assume a manager) and was hung up on. Chicken was decent but for $15 I was extremely underwhelmed.
This is the best DARN chicken in Grand Rapids, you would think the staff was from down south. It is truly one of the staples of comfort foods in Grand Rapids you have to check it out.
Giving service 5 stars, food 3 stars. I had a burger at a chicken place…so there’s that to consider. Ordered the Smash Burger, it was just ok. Had cheese on it and was very messy, more liquid than solid. Patty was more like a vegan burger . If I went back, might do to try the chicken, I definitely wouldn’t get a burger. Also had the fries, they were undercooked and cold. I was very impressed at the liquor selection…saw Hendricks Gin on the shelf! Top notch small batch gin. Bottom line, probably won’t go back, lots better burgers elsewhere. Service is very good!
