Went there for the first time today and it was SO good. I just got a gyro pita with the normal veggies but it was super flavorful. I was really impressed. I’ll definitely be coming back!
I’ve read some other reviews and I think they are really exaggerated. I had a very pleasant visit to Gita Pita greeted by a friendly and warm staff. Not to mention the food was off the hook! Seemed like a clean and well run establishment to me. Lastly, why do people need to attack peoples livelihood over one bad experience. COVID has been hard enough on GR restaurant scene. People need to cool it.
In the past I’ve really enjoyed the food I’ve ordered here through third party apps. I went in person for the first time today to order food to go and was really disappointed with both the service and food. My partner and I were ignored for long time and when finally someone came to take our order, they were really rude. They made really subpar pitas— usually they stuff those things so well that I can eat two meals out of one. This time they were super small and both my partner and I were left feeling hungry after. They rolled the pitas poorly and even rolled the aluminum foil INTO the pita. Then they literally threw our food onto the counter and when I opened it later to eat, it all just fell apart into a saucy mess. Just a bummer of an experience.
We had a terrible, frustrating experience. The most frustrating part is that the phone number goes to a person's cell phone whose voicemail is full. If they picked up the phone and corrected our $50 delivery order that was missing $25 worth of its food and an hour later than promised, then there might have been a way to salvage this. Any restaurant that sends guests straight to a full-voicemail-box is all the warning sign you need. I've been taken for $25 and there's no recourse other than going down there this week which I am guessing will result in just more wasted time and money..
The food is excellent, there is no getting around that! I’m sure it’s why they have stayed in business all of these years. I didn’t want to post this review publicly, but there is no email address associated with Gita pita on their website. I have always had horrible customer service here, but today took the cake. The young woman rolled her eyes at every request any customer made. Mis-heard me ask for 2 greek fries instead of 2 pitas. Insisted on charging me for both the pitas and the greek fries. She was so mean to every customer, not just me. I know it’s hard to find staff right now, but if I ever see her working again I will turn around and find food elsewhere. It was very disheartening on a human level that she could treat people that way, let alone a customer service establishment. If it were my business, I would restrict her to back of house and prep only.
Gave this place another try, won't be back! Dirty restaurant. They place the bread on the prep table without anything under it and touches every container and topping from other orders. Both times the gyro beef/lamb chunks are expired looking and tasting. They cut their meat in cubes instead of the thin slices...gross. Cucumber/tomato mix old and slimy. The only good compared to other restaurants is their pita bread. Falafel is tiny, size of a grape!! Staff doesn't seem to care or take business seriously. Felt like I was poisoned to death after eating the food. Will never go back.
Great gyros, the real deal and very reasonably priced. You'll have to stand in a line to order and sometimes if they're busy it can be kind of long but the service is still relatively fast and friendly. There is no parking but depending on the time of your visit, you can usually find a spot along the side street.
People were really friendly and professional when it came to drinking in the store by making sure to tell me to drive safe and drink responsibly but had to be the best gyro I’ve had in a long time thank you gita pita
Had a gyro here. It was really good. I like the building other than the floor. Broke cracked wet concrete is not a clean look.
I am livid!I ordered pickup over the phone and this is the garbage I was given!!!1. The food was WAYYY TOO SALTY AND DISGUSTING! We took two full bites of this garbage to make sure. The gyros did not have a flatbread LIKE THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO, THEY WRAPPED THEM IN TORTILLAS! WHO DOES THIS!2. Baklava is NOT SUPPOSSED TO BE SOGGY AND WATERY!3. I ordered 2 gyro pitas that is listed for $8.99 each on the menu but I was charged $9.99 each.4. I was given a time to pickup, I came and had to wait an additional 15 minutes.I want a full refund and will be calling them. You would too if you spent $27 dollars and was taken advantage of!THIS WAS ABSOLUTE GARBAGE! STAY AWAY!
