From Illinois and I took my kids here while staying in Grand Rapids and it was delicious! Line was long but moved fairly quickly for the amount people that were there. I try to find places that are well known to the locals but maybe not so known to the tourists. This one seemed to fit the bill.
Despite being super busy, this place didn’t have any issue getting our ice cream out quick and fresh and far from melty. Love getting a sundae or a flurry from Frosty Boy!
A local legend for cool sweets and tasty treats. One of only ice cream places that can cater to nearly 100% of dietary restrictions. They offer vegan soft serve (dairy free), gluten free toppings and even a coconut milk based whipped cream that's hand whipped and delicious ?
They have a whole gluten free menu, not just cones! They can do many gf flurries including Oreos, brownies, lemon cookies, and Twix! Gluten-free cake, and waffle cones are available.
The team there tonight was so fast and organized, despite how crazy busy they were. I also love the amount of GF option that are provided! So delicious!

they got the best ice cream but they prices b buggin, and on top of that there was this one bi-person that was mean but you meet mean people all the time if so anyways point Is, mid workers, good ice cream, mid prices
Heard about this allergy-friendly spot for my family and we just had to give it a try, even on a chilly day! Our kid has a peanut allergy and even though they have nuts on the menu, they took extra precaution in serving his vegan soft-serve safely. I also have a dairy-intolerance and happily enjoyed their vegan Oreo blizzard (without a stomach ache)! I honestly had a hard time choosing from all of the different options they have available and already cannot wait to make another trip back to try something new! This will definitely be our go-to ice cream shop from now on!
Frosty Boy has been a go-to since I was a literal toddler. The years they were closed were some of the saddest years of my life. Every sunny day is an excuse to come enjoy some ice cream, even when the lines are long it’s worth it. Team moves quickly and efficiently and are always so friendly. Never a complaint about good ol’ Frosty Boy!
Haven't been here yet but after reading reviews we will definitely be stopping here ehile in GR this summer. Would you ever consider adding orange shakes to your menu?
