Highly Recommend Double Dip Depot! A West Side staple you must try! A large menu with multiple options, fair prices and extremely friendly staff! 10 out of 10!
I would give 0 stars but that's not a option. I've never been to this ice cream shop and I never will especially after hearing on the news they wouldn't let someone use their restroom that had a IBD flare and had their medical card stating they NEED a restroom. I myself having crohns disease know that this is most definitely a thing and SHAME on the owner for acting like this!!!!!
TLDR -- If you have (or support those who have) IBD, don't support Double Dip Depot.First, let me say that my family and I have been going here pretty much weekly for the last 3 1/2 - 4 years. Before this weekend I would have given them 5 stars as their prices are fair, their portions are sizable, the quality is high and the staff is friendly.However, this last weekend they violated the Americans with Disability Act and I can no longer support them in good conscience.Since it is hereditary; myself and other members of my family have Inflammatory Bowel Disease (A group of diseases consisting of Crohn's disease, Colitis, Ulcerative Colitis, Ostomy, etc.). One of my family members was having a flare up and requested to use their non-public restroom. They provided all required information under the Michigan Restroom Access act of 2003 but were denied by the management to use the bathroom. Despite showing the manager (or owner, I don't know) the law and showing how it allows them immunity from any prosecution due to health dept. codes, etc... he argued he never heard of the law and that anyone could just say they needed the bathroom without proof (even though we provided the proof required under the law) and denied my family member the use of their restroom. My family member then had to drive home in soiled clothes which is something no one should ever have to do.
The ice cream here is great and the drive through is very convenient, but the employees here are the worst. They are so rude and unpleasant. I know most of them are teenagers, but there is no excuse for it.
Four of us stopped for sundaes after supper down the road. Nice location, plenty of picnic tables to sit at. And a small mini golf course. Fun place, we will be back.
Great little place that's usually fairly crowded, but for good reason. Prices are fairly reasonable, and the ice cream is delicious. Definitely recommend.
We loved the ice cream! Huge portions, great flavor, and lots of options! Our first visit to the place, and we will be going back! Very fast service as well. Was a huge line when we got there, didn't take long at all!
Great selections of ice cream. They also have fried foods.They have a mini golf course that's pretty outdated, but still fun.
Went here yesterday and they charged $5.85 for 2 small twists… Today my husband and I went in and they charged us $5.50… 2 different workers! Make up your mind on the price because that’s bs. Plus I tipped $1.00 yesterday and the worker was nicer today than yesterday!!
Always great customer service. My hard ice cream was a bit frost bitten...first time ever but my family and I have been going there since they first opened...... so we will definitely be back
