The tenders were overcooked. The catfish was undercooked. The cheese curds exploded so they had no cheese inside. The fries were stale. The employees were nice, but the food took awhile to receive. I enjoyed the fried Oreos more than anything. There's better options out there.
First time trying Cousins chicken. The chicken was hot, krispy and moist. Our order was accurate and ready when promised. They had a good system going- one line for preordered food, and another line for ordering on the spot. I liked the light batter on it. We also enjoyed our sides of fried okra, mashed potatoes, and cole slaw, all fresh tasting. I would order again when we are in the mood for fried chicken. I also want to try the fish.
Whenever I'm in Grand Rapids MI I have to have at least one meal from Cousins Tasty Chicken. For my money it is the best chicken in Grand Rapids. The fry's leave a little to be desired,,but the chicken more than makes up for it!!
Ok. First off we were traveling and wanted some deep fried chicken. You found this place with a really good rating. We ordered online to set up for pickup. When I got there this place was popping. People place in orders and people picking up internet orders etc. They did not miss a beat. I got there 15 minutes after I ordered and it was ready for pickup. When I got there I realized that they had a much bigger menu in person. SEAFOOD too!The food was perfectly made not overly greasy or overly salted. Sometimes you eat at these fried food places and that's a common occurrence. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone for the fried home cooked meal.
Chicken and waffles were very good and well priced. Regular and spicy tenders were both flavorful. Friend got catfish which was the best I've ever had. Will be returning when I am in Grand Rapids
I must admit I'm a lifer!!! I've been coming to Cousin's for close to 30 yrs!! Their food is amazing!! Chicken is very flavorful and the fish is great! Fries cooked to perfection!! The mashed potatoes and gravy is out this world good!! Was so eager to eat the food I forgot to take pictures!! Opps!! The staff is always very friendly and helpful.
Totally love the selection, flavors, attention to getting it right, ease of online ordering and pick up. Not over bready coating, lower salt, not greasy and super juicy chicken. Just all around reasons for driving across town to get takeout. They have a top notch crew that does things right. ❤️
I’ve been here a couple of times now with my Grandmother, every time we get food from cousins it’s always the best tasting food. Reasonably priced for great food.
Best chicken in town. Earth shattering crispy and literally dripping with juices. Fall off the bone tender. You will not have a better chicken spot in town. I JUST WISH THEY WERE OPEN LONGER!!! keep up the good work.
By far THE best fried chicken and fish in town! Ive had cousins too many times to count now and it's been hot, fresh, and delicious with generous portions every time. That's not even to mention they have unbeatable prices! You'd be cheating yourself if you got fried chicken from anywhere else!
