I have always considered dining out to be an experience, not just sustenance, consisting of tasty libations, a well thought out menu and friendly service. Brass Ring Brewery has it all. I made a spontaneous trip there this evening with my parents and our expectations were definitely exceeded. The beer is meticulously crafted, there is something for everyone on the menu and our server, Matt, really made our sustenance an experience. He was attentive, personable and very passionate about what he does. Brass Ring Brewery will definitely be added to our small list of local spots and we will absolutely ask for Matt to be our server!
This place has good food that's even better now that the Cuban is back and the beer is a refreshing change from most microbrewery IPA fares and I love it. Haven't had a bad thing in all the times I've gone. I don't know what their hiring process is but they always have eccentric fun wait staff too. A great place to go.
Brass Ring is a phenomenal local pub (and I mean pub literally - it has the same neighborhood watering hole vibes that you would find in any British pub). The service is friendly and fast, willing to get to know locals and remember their favorite orders. The indoor seating is nicely spaced and also has a nice outdoor patio. Most importantly, their beers are brewed in-house and really incredible. I haven’t had a beer there I haven’t liked, and you can tell they put a lot of effort into the craft. The food is also quite good, with a variety of vegetarian options built into the menu. I would recommend to anyone and plan to visit whenever I’m in town!
The lavander lemon sprinter drink was amazing. I made some lavander simple syrup this weekend in an effort to duplicate this drink soon. Absolutely loved the scotch eggs. Our server, matt, was pretty cool also. Will visit again soon.
This is my new favorite pub. It's the Cask ale, the holy grail of beer. It's the location: Alger Heights, where I grew up. It's the amazing and innovative food. And wait: the shanties! Heated and cozy for "outdoor" dining and drinking in winter. All in all it's the real deal, the complete-package pub experience, and I can't recommend it highly enough. And yeah try the cask, if you haven't yet, or at least ask about it...it really is a rare gem. This is like the only (or first) bar in Michigan to have it, last I checked, or at least to be certified. (Just read that they're only the 26th in the U.S. to be Cask Marque certified.)
I stopped by several years ago after they first opened, but I stopped in again a couple weeks ago to see how things are going. Their beers are very good and easy to drink, and the cask ales are even better. The cask ale was very smooth and creamy, and it was really a new experience for me. The food was quite good too, and my friend who used to live in the UK was very fond of the bangers and mash.
The beer was great, had the star cask ale, all season ale and the wayfarer, great if your an IPA guy. Our server Scott was awesome. Food was amazing, best beer cheese I have ever had and the pickle lover sammy was great. The hand cut fries were also great.
Such a delightful neighborhood brewery with a great variety of beers that are approachable to everyone regardless of preferences. Very cozy & the perfect place to spend an afternoon with a flight of every beer they have on tap. Our server, Scott, was incredibly friendly and made our visit even more fun!
Wonderful brew pub with great food! The UK style beers were excellent and the Peruvian Pyala shandy I had was refreshing. I enjoyed the Pickle Lovers Sammy, the fried chicken was perfectly cooked and the addition of pickled vegetables made the whole sandwich. My partner enjoyed the Burger Royal which was a perfect, classic loaded cheeseburger.
The beer was great. Skip the food. Our fries were cold, and we ordered the Ploughman's Platter. It was pathetic. Cold sausage, bland and wet pickled veggies, and mild cheddar cheese that must have been from Costco, cut into irregular shapes for some reason.
