First time here, last time coming. They walk around with a chop on their shoulders. Rude and ignore you when you first walk in. Then throw a good morning at you. Made me feel uncomfortable.
I usually love Big Apple Bagels but today was far from exceptional. The staff pays little attention to the customer in their lobby. I stood at the register for several minutes waiting to order, then well over 20 minutes for my 2 bagel sandwiches. I found when i got home that my sandwiches where on the wrong bagels. I called and they told me that they were out of the one i chose and had substituted for another and there was nothing they would do for me. I was standing in their lobby! Not one person came to ask what other bagel I would have liked my sandwiches on. They also made a change to another lady's coffee without asking her and she was also upset about the matter. You guys need to get your crew in shape.
This is the 3rd time I’ve gone in, and ordered a bagel with cream cheese and it has been a disappointment. There was hardly any cream cheese on the bagel, you could see the actual bagel right through the cream cheese it was so thin. The staff is a bunch of kids that just goof off and don’t know how to properly provide customer service. The place was a mess and there was no courtesy that customers were in the place the way the staff was acting. I didn’t think I’d have to say make sure the bagel has cream cheese on it, but unfortunately I’d check your items before you leave to make sure you don’t get a scraping of cream cheese on your food
Bagels are great, but ask for extra cream cheese especially if you toast your bagel or you'll end up with nada.
My cinnamon raisin bagel had no cinnamon or raisins. They must have given me a plain one.
Only giving an extra star because the bagels were ok. I ordered a delivery as I am tied to a desk job. I desperately needed coffee. I ordered a couple bagels and a coffee, paid an expensive delivery fee and tipped the delivery person handsomely, and guess what? no coffee. The whole reason for my order. So stupid delivery service gave me back the amount the coffee would have been but I'm stuck with an expensive delivery of two bagels I would not even be bothering with if I knew they wouldn't bothered giving me my correct order.
Awesome bagel sandwichs and the best coffee anywhere. The owner is a little grumpy and based on the recent turnover, probably a little tight with wages. The staff are always nice. The bagels are good just sometimes a little inconsistent as far as too much butter, toasted well enough etc. But prices are good and service is usually pretty quick.
It's hard to believe this BAB is even the same brand as the one on Plainfield.At Plainfield they try to know you by name. At this one, they basically ignore you.
The total disregard from the owner for food safety is appalling. Not to mention how the owner shames, bullies, and is disrespectful towards staff and others. The restaurants staff and customers would be better served if the owner allowed things to be run by someone else.
This is not our normal Big Apple Bagel that we visit. We definitely will not be returning. All employees working were not friendly. Breakfast Bagel sandwich was so disgusting.
