Disappointed!I remember reviewing this place over a year ago because we really liked it. We had chicken picatta and it was delicious. Not so much this time. Where did the flavor go?! Before, the cutlet was swimming in olive oil, garlic, capers and lemon. So flavorful! Tonight it was bland, no zest! My wife found two capers in her dish. So sad. I hope we just caught them on bad night.Of course the price has gone up by 20%. I'm sure it's covid/supply chain/ inflation related but there was no added value to us.Well, I guess I'll wait another year to see if things improve. I hope they do.
I really used to like this place. After my last visit though, I have decided it was my last. Service was absolutely horrible, not unlike alot of places have been since the Pandemic. I get it, good help is hard to find, but that doesn't mean we have to suffer. We tried to dine here on Saturday afternoon and after waiting at the hostess desk for 10 minutes or so, we decided to seat ourselves at the bar area. The waitress, who didn't actually stop waling as she spoke to us, said "it'll be 10 minutes until someone will be able to help you" and disappeared before I could say a word. I couldn't get out of my chair to leave fast enough and likely won't be back. We found another restaurant across town that treated us with great service and excellent food as well.
The food was amazing, the prices are great, and the atmosphere in the bar and the restaurant sides were both beautiful! The toppings on the pizza were very generous. The chicken Parmigiano was delicious! The Italian sausage soup was better than anything I've ever had at the olive chain place by a mile! They have a separate takeout area and they also have a sit down family area and a bar atmosphere (which is also family friendly because they have bar seating and booths) this was my first visit so I had to share how impressed I was. Sorry my food was half eaten in the photos, I was not planning on reviewing but it was too good not to share. The canoli was next level!!!
Good pizza, but pricey. We ordered a 14” pizza and some cinnamon puffs takeout and it ended up being $38.00, not exactly sure how that happened. We didn’t notice till we got home ??♀️ so I would recommended double checking the price!
Everytime I come here I get treated like family. Food is always hot and fresh. The owners are the most caring individuals and love to please customers! The manager is always on her game. She is full of smiles and will do anything to make your experience better. Nothing to say but good things about this place. It's a beautiful atmosphere and you feel at home when you step foot in this place. Everyone is wonderful and service is always excellent!
We ordered the pizza swirls and hot wings. Taste was great. Food did take a long time. I feel like Alfanos has a lot of potential, but unfortunately fell short for us. Our server had way too many tables so she rarely was at our table. We ended up taking our food to go. Also, it’s March madness and half of the TVs were playing infomercials. 3 stars for this experience is being generous. We would possibly order take out in the future but probably won’t be back to dine-in.
The only thing good here is the pizza and the cinnamon puffs…The menu is the most flavorless menu we’ve ever had. Every time we go we try something different and just get disappointed… the chicken burritos is just terrible, no flavor, we’ve tried the beef before, and that was better than the chicken. Your better off going to adobe or El Sombarro. The menu is also way overpriced for the amount of food you get. The mixed vegetables are like a medley from a bag…I really try to like them since they are a neighborhood bar but man I wish they’d do better. On the upside the bathroom smells great!
My coworker and I went to Alfano's yesterday (2/10/2022) such a warm and great service (thanks Ashley). We had pizza and appetizers and everything was so awesome Glad to support our local restaurant. Thanks!
Food was descent enough however the waitress was quite snickery when we wanted to be seated away from the cold door. Even though we were not asked... where we would like to be seated. Then I noticed a $2.00 to $3.00 difference in prices from the Alfanos website to the menu. The menu was more. I asked the waitress, she said it is because of dine in... Wow that really doesn't make sense. I have been going to Alfano's quite awhile. But since the remodeling the restaurant is trying to portray an upscale restaurant which I don't think will fly on the west side. Just flustered regarding this restaurant.
This is how our dinner was delivered! So I called for a replacement and was told 15-20 minutes. It has been a hour and my replacement is still not here. I don't complain it's not my thing but this is becoming normal for them and we have been ordering them for 3 years
