First of all, my friends and I had heard so many good and promising things about this place. So, we decided to place a takeout order. We went in with open minds, because we had heard so much about this place. But we were greeted by an environment that was very clearly “if you aren’t a local, you aren’t gonna get good service.” We walked in, went up to the counter where takeout orders were clearly meant to be received. We waited for a couple minutes before mentioning to an older woman that we had placed a takeout order. She responded with “Yeah..” in a very rude tone and then asked for my name, which I told her, then she said “I don’t have an order for that name.” And sort of scoffed? Which I found to be rude, like she just overall disliked the fact that we were clearly tourists who had never been inside before. Then someone else showed her the receipt and she responded with “Oh, I guess we do.” once again, scoffing. After we left, we were hoping that the pizza was at least good, but it was underwhelming. In conclusion, don’t come here if you aren’t a local.
Fricano's Pizza Tavern has been around forever. Pizza is different but very good. Has a tendency to be a little greasy so make sure you have them service it on cardboard. Full bar and good service. They only serve pizza
Cool pizza place recommended by a local. Pizza is the only menu item, is a VERY thin crust, with a bit of sauce and toppings, with the spices and herbs on top. I did enjoy the pizza. They also had Stroh's, which is always a plus. Each pizza is 14", no other sizes available, and this is sufficient for me, but was not too much. I did like the assembly line approach, service was extremely fast (we had our drinks in just over a minute, I think), and this is a sign of a well run restaurant. Good focus on fast turnover, which is very important in the summer in Grand Haven. No complaints, it was good, and a little different, but not great. Decent prices too.
Fricano's was highly recommended by a local friend of mine and I have to say, it exceeded even the glowing praise he gave it.Simple, easy menu. No fuss, no pretention, just great pizza. Thin crust was cooked perfectly, crispy and chewy in all the right ways. Toppings piled on, great sauce, not overly cheesy. Had several lovely drinks at the bar during the short wait for my order to come through.I would recommend Fricano's to anyone hankering for great pizza.
I could easily write a meme review of "the best the best the best the best" and the regulars wouldn't need further explanation but, this is for those that haven't been. This pizza joint has been around since 1949 and it's definitely not a quiz as to how they're still open.12" pie with standard choices for pizza for $13.50. Shut up and take my money! The pizza tastes amazing, the service is really good they are busy night after night for a reason. They kept it really simple because the menu is literally on your placemat. There are drink menus at each table as they serve alcohol as well. Nothing super high end in the school department but, reasonably priced. If you are buying soda pop, this is the only thing that caught me off-guard, they charged by the glass but, it's pretty nominal unless you have several refills. 11/10 this restaurant makes any day better.
I saw testimonials about Mrs Jane Lippencott how people get paid, so I decided to try her and i started with $500 and in 7 days i earned $5,500 and now I can also say that she is the most honest woman I have ever met here. Overall bad experience. I've never left a restaurant review but felt this one needed one. It was my first time at the grand haven location, the sign said to seat ourselves so we did and immediately got yelled at by staff for going into wrong area, a room where apparently only larger parties are welcome. The server had an attitude with us after that but the worst part was actually the pizza. The crust had a sour taste and was soggy and there was just no flavor at all. I would have been happier eating a frozen pizza.
I worked there a number of years. They were good to their staff. Lover of their pizza ; ate it every night.
The place is cozy and reminds me of an old fashioned pizza parlor! Simple menu with pizza and drink's, wine and beer and pop. One size pizza with thin crust. We loved it, perfect not greasy! Pop was 75 cent's a glass!
Fricanos is more of a cheese base pizza rather than tomato sauce base. The same family, Fricanos, has owned this business for over 50 years. They only sell thin crust pizzas in one size. They use a considerable amount of oregano. I order the "everything but" . . . but anchovies. If you are not crazy about tomato sauce, this place is the place for you. It is my favorite pizza.
