We stopped in for a "light" lunch and ended up ordering a large supreme pizza. Again. Service was excellent and the pie was delicious, as always, with plenty to take home for several meals later... Everything about Mario's will have you coming back for more, to try something different or to stick with the entrees you've enjoyed and crave. Fantastic value and quality for the price. Highly recommend.
Been eating at this place since I was a kid. I understand new ownership some things change. But I ordered two meatball subs and they literally had no sauce were dry bread was extra hard. Never experienced this at this establishment before. Also ordered a small pizza it tasted bland just wasn’t the same. I’m gonna be sad to have to no longer enjoy a meatball sub and pizza from here.
On behalf of Doug and I (PS. Doug has been frequenting here since 1979) we absolutely love this place. The food is great and the charm and hospitality of the wait staff is nice too, they listen to you if there is an issue. They always always treat us great, and we love them for it! Thank you for being there for us, when we travel from our little corner of the mitt, to yours! HIghly recommened!Oh by the way there is a back room, bar area that if you have need for a larger group call ahead and reserve an area. I personally utilized this area for when I was head of one of our Class Reunions. Its a great meeting place with ol' charm atmosphere.
Great food and awesome staff. The family got together here and had some pizza. Wow it was good and we left the restaurant with snacks for later. What a treat.
My family threw me a birthday party a few weeks ago. There were 10 people. We ordered several different pizzas, salad and all different drinks. I can't say enough about the wait staff, and everyone involved to getting the table ready. They were so congenial to all of us. Of course the pizzas were stacked with toppings and we all went home with boxes of the remaining slices. We brought our own cake, as Mario's was more than happy to allow us to do. I would highly recommend having a party or group there for a special occasion.
If you haven't been here in a while, it is under new ownership. I had the personal size pizza with ham and pepperoni. Mario's use to have the best ham. Now it is in strips and thicker with no flavor. The sauce was blan. I unfortunately will not be going back. Which is sad since I've been going there for over 30 years.
I have ordered lasagna from here many of times and it’s always been great. Today I thought it was lasagna soup with all the liquid in it. I’ve never had lasagna with a 1/2 inch of liquid sitting in the dish and all over in the bag. Very frustrating considering the price.
Excellent food!!! Pizza, Breadsticks, Antipasto salad and Spaghetti are the best in town. The meat sauce is to die for and can be purchased by the quart. The staff are friendly and we always get great service. When its busy and it usuallly is on the weekends, pizza takes a bit longer so have another beer because its worth the wait! The new owners are awesome people and happily carrying on the original recipes and are so grateful to the Simoni family. New drink menu and larger TV's are some great upgrades.
We love this restaurant. The employees make you feel welcome and appreciated.The pizza is Great and the pasta dishes are outstanding! The portions are big and the prices are good! I recommend Mario's restaurant!
In my opinion this is the best pizza we have left in Flint. I think this pizza is closer to authentic Sicilian style pizza then many other pizzerias in our area. To be honest, my favorite pizzeria was Sicily's and I didn't find Mario's until after Sicily's shut their doors, at which point I tried just about every pizzeria in our area, and Mario's is the best by far
