We love El Especial!! The food is excellent n the service is great too!! One of our favorite places!
been hearing and seeing this place and I'm always hesitant to try new mexican places but after my gpa said its alot like how his family in Texas cooks and my sister alway enjoyed it. so,, today we decided to try it and immediately fell in love. the barbacoa was tender and full of flavor, the beans and rice were perfect the green salsa and the pico we got was also perfect just the right mix and kick.my mom also enjoyed her burrito meal and my young niece demolished some barbacoa also like she was feral. just like my gpa said it also reminded my dad and I of how food in Texas tasted. we we def will be making this a favorite place for ordering mexican food when we don't wanna cook!
Great food, terrible service. Doesn't matter if you call in an order, plan on waiting another 40 mins once you arrive. One lady running the pass, answering phones, checking customers out, bagging up food, taking orders, clearing tables.I love this place but when I only have an hour for lunch and the entire time is taken up by waiting in a line for 40 mins, its just not worth trying.
Food is solid- above average to pretty damn good and the prices are reasonable. Just wish they were more up front with the wait times on takeout orders. If they say 25 minutes, count on double that. I don’t mind waiting- tell me you’re busy and it’s going to be 50 minutes. I’ll plan accordingly.

If you are a Tamale lover this is the place to be served with or without gravy. If you are a pork rind chicharrones lover this is the place to be; they are homemade and not salty. Did I mention how great the barbacoa tacos are, try them. The nacho and taco salads are good too. Overall the dining experience has been well.
I have been eating at this restaurant for years. They have authentic Mexican food not like some of the Americanized Mexican restaurants around here. I have never had anything that wasn’t exceptional from their enchiladas to their tacos, burritos, Mexican pastries and even Coke from Mexico. The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is festive and the they really move to get your food out quickly. What can I say I love this place!
Everything was awesome. Great rice and beans. Burritos were excellent with or without sauce. Fajitas were enough for two.....or my leftovers! A hit with the whole party!
Just amazing you can’t beat it!!! I get the chimichanga steak double rice lunch with 2 Barbacoa tacos …literally the best Mexican food around …they prices have remained the same since the pandemic which makes it even more enjoyable
