We had a party of ten and wanted to have a variety of options as many in the party are vegetarians, so we decided on Indian food. This location had the most interesting looking website amongst the six or seven that are all nearby (within half a mile of each other!). Plus, they actually answered the phone when I called!!! So, I made the reservation and we stopped in.The initial look is not particularly promising as it is in back of another establishment and cannot be seen from Orchard Lake rd. Not only that, but there are signs all over the facade advertising a breakfast place, so I was getting a bit nervous. That is, until I walked in!First impression was the beautiful decor. There is a large glass wall separating one dining area from the other. It has water in it with a bubble machine and inserts so that the bubbles form geometric design. Lighted from below change colors to add to the look (see photo). Next good sign was that they were ready for us and immediately took us to our table. Final good first sign was that we were the ONLY Caucasian group in the place!!! :-)It took a bit to get our orders together as it turned out that most of the people in our party actually had never done much with Indian cuisine, but the waiters were patient and we eventually got there. I was happy to see the wide variety of dishes so that both my vegetarian and non-vegetarian folks could get what they wanted. When the food arrived ... wow!!! All the right flavors, amped up. There were all the spices you expect to come together in Indian dishes and then some. I was very impressed and enjoyed things immensely. My heat tolerance level is pretty high but many in the group are not fans of spicy food. We ordered everything at the medium level, and when it came, it was too much for some of the people. The excellent Mango and especially the Sweet Lassi saved the day.As we ate, I was monitoring who came in, and by the time we were done, the place was almost completely full. Aside for us, there were probably two dozen parties in this large place. Only us, and two other parties were not of Indian origin. This - to me - is an excellent indicator of the quality of the food - in addition to my own experiences.Overall, this was a very highly enjoyable dinner and I would really like to come back to enjoy more of their offerings.
My favorite Indian restaurant in town! They have the best naan bread (garlic and onion are delicious). I've had the butter chicken there and it is divine. They do not give you that much rice so ask for more if you need. We've had the vegetable pakora which was delightful. The spice level is okay - for me I went with mild and it had a slight kick. India Flavors definitely has all the flavors you'll want in an Indian dish. The inside is lively and fun, they have a fish tank and the décor is cool. Highly recommend.
We had the worse experience of tasting indian cuisine at this restaurant. The quality was atrocious. Nothing worse to say.
These guys have lost the respect for customers. The food is nowhere near where it used to be. You get served cold food and bad service by untrained personnel with high menu prices. The owner/manager has no sense of personal space and tries to drop in your conversation by passing unnecessary comments when you are busy talking with your party.Last time I went there, they had closed the kitchen but google still showed them open so I decided to go in to check if they are open and I was treated very badly by the owner.
Nice and clean place, good service, but the food was cold, Samosa was oily (to much).
If I could give the restaurant 0 starts I would. My husband ordered takeout a couple time a month and every time for the past month they have been messing up the order. He orders the chicken tikka masala (medium heat). They give him mild. It’s been happening this whole month and I’m really upset tonight. Rice looks like from a left over biryani plate.Y’all just lost a loyal customer.
India flavors may have been established for few years now but the quality of food and service has gone down drastically. I have received Dum Biriyani that looked and tasted like left over. Water at the bottom clearly tells me that it was reheated and sent over as of its freshly made. It’s unfortunate that the bread ordered will be missed and when they send it , you will see tiny halves to your surprise. I guess if everyone can share their experiences we as a community will be a better place and retrain the owners to run their business to customer satisfaction. We deserve to get for what we pay and respect must be earned. I completely lost respect for this restaurant and the way they treated us both times.
Ordered the Lamb Rogan Josh….Lamb …always a bit risky if the quality is not good. Unfortunately in this case not a good experience. First of all had to scoop at least 5 tablespoons of fat out of the container…gross. The flavor was really not good….more of a bland gravy than anything else. Last but not least the first try of the Lamb was just a ball of gristle… by half way through had a mound of gristle pieces on the side of the plate. Obviously these cheap cuts had caused the excess fat in the container. Sooo… horrible experience, will revert to safer chicken for the next months. Message to India Flavors: “You can do better Guys….not the normal good experience!”
Cold dum biryani, looks and tastes like left over and sure enough found water in the bottom which clearly showed that it was reheated. Missing naan was substituted with tiny dry halves instead of what we normally eat at the restaurant. Shame on the customer support and standards.
Food is good but the customer service is lagging. We would make orders through DoorDash and some of our orders were mixed up. Like we ordered samosa with our order and there was no samosa. Another order, we ordered butter chicken and another entree but they gave us two butter chicken orders. When we called to complain, the guy who answered the phone insisted I made a mistake and I don’t know what each order looked like which I took it as offensive. So this is my last order with them! Goodbye!
