My girlfriend wanted Italian and was really excited about this place. Most Italian restaurants I visit rarely perform above average. I read both good and bad reviews and was hesitant but decided to give it a try.From the first walk in, I felt like I was actually in Italy. The aesthetic of the place was really cool and every detail added to it.We got the calamari and it was hands down the BEST calamari I have ever ordered. It didn’t even need sauce, the flavor and crispiness was perfect. The man at the front desk suggested the Gnocchi Rita Sauce and that was also incredibly delicious. The gnocchi was cooked perfectly and the flavors of the sauce, mushrooms and bacon were perfect.The service was good and he brought out oil and vinegar at our request for the bread. I have to say I was very surprised and happy with this restaurant.
I've been here twice while traveling. The food is delicious, with a real Italian taste, and the service is phenomenal. The bread that comes with the pasta is really good!If you like Italian and you're ever at Novi, you have to try this place!
Used to go to Roman village in high school and loved it. I moved out to Farmington Hills recently and was super happy to find out that their sister restaurant was out here. Amazing Italian food - some of the best in metro Detroit in my opinion. Don’t let some of the negative reviews fool you, this place will leave you happy and quite full.
First let me explain,I don't like Italian food. Sure I eat spaghetti or pizza, but that's about it. I am trying to be fair in this review. Last Sunday my wife and I attended a 11 person birthday party. First the good news. This restaurant is in a medium size outdoor mall so parking was plentiful.We had reservations and were seated a few minutes after our reservation time. Our waiter was prompt and always around if needed. Now the bad stuff. I ordered veal parmigano and it came with about a half pound of cheese covering it and red sauce, tomato I guess. There's was enough sauce to feed a small army. The sides were a salad and a small plate of Spaghetti also with sauce. The salad had one tiny bite of tomato, an even smaller bite of carrots and about ten strips of lettuce. Wow, talk about small. The spaghetti and sauce were bland so I only had about 3 bites before gave it up. After I scraped off the sauce and all cheese, the veal was delicious and super tender. It was a very large piece of veal so I took half home and had a delicious sandwich the next day. My wife had the spaghetti and also felt the sauce made it taste bland. The other nine people ordered various Italian food and told me it was good or ok.
Hidden gem for good pasta , pizza and wines. I thoroughly loved the dining experience right from the wait time , cozy ambiance and warm service! The food was outstanding! They make fresh pasta everyday and you can tell from the taste! So delicious and flavorful! Right from the salad, soup, pizza and pasta every single dish was just so flavorful! Loved it! Solid five stars.
Took our 93 yr. old mother for her birthday. Food was wonderful and we all raved about our meals. Our waitress Barb was avery attentive and probably our best restaurant experience in a long time. Everything was top notch and we look forward to next visit there. Thank you , thank you, thank you!
Terrible experience, terrible service, terrible food. We had 5 people in our party last Friday, February 11th. Why is it that the hostess can seat AT LEAST 10 parties of 4, but we had to wait 45 minutes for our party to be sat? All they did was stick an extra table on the edge of a booth. That's problem #1. We were 2 families and the waiter refused to put our meals on 2 different bills, and we asked before even giving him our drink order. That's problem #2. The food was extremely bland. My gnocci had ZERO flavor. The only flavor in this dish came from the meat sauce, which tastes exactly like sauce from canned ravioli that children eat. That's problem #3. When a guest from our table mentioned to the waiter that he noticed someone at the bar was eating what looked like a dessert with 2 scoops of ice cream served in a glass, the waiter just said, "that doesn't sound like anything we serve". And that was it. He didn't investigate, ask a manager... did absolutely nothing to find out what it was for him. Instead, the guest that was asking about the "dessert" walked up to the bar and asked the bartender. When the waiter came back, the guest said that he asked the bartender what it was, would you please talk to him? The waiter refused and the guest had to walk with him up to the bar to inquire about it so that he could order it. That was problem #4. The waiter was rude, had no patience, short-tempered and didn't even want to list off the soups available. None of us will ever return to this restaurant again. There are plenty of Italian restaurants that serve delicious food and treat their customers with respect. This was one of the worst experiences I've had in a restaurant.
Not the best carbonara I’ve had, it was quite dry unfortunately. However, the bread, minestrone soup, and cannoli were all amazing and everyone in my group seemed to enjoy their dishes as well. Huge portions! The service was also extremely prompt and friendly, even with our large group!
Overall, fairly decent. The prices are reasonable for complete dinners and plentiful. Fairly tasty. The service was inattentive and forgetful with an almost empty dining room.The pasta in my side spaghetti was way over cooked, my ossabucco a bit tough, and bread lacking garlic. I'm not a fan of Italian food, in general, except maybe a true antipasto, which was served Michigan style here, so chances are I will not be back. My friend wanted to go, as it was staff appreciation night for sticking through the covid challenges, and half the receipts went to staff. I think the other half should have gone back to the customers for keeping the doors open with their patronage!
They forgot to give us our Pizza with a carry out order. I called to inform them and they acknowledged they forgot the pizza. I asked them if they could deliver it, they declined. They informed me to come back and they would make a new pizza. I get to the restaurant and waited an additional 25 min to get my pizza. They stated “we’re so sorry” and that’s it, nothing to try and make things right like a future discount or a larger size pizza. I wont be back after this experience.
