Great time. It’s an amazing place for dates. Wouldn’t say this is a place for kids though.
Terrible service. Ordered our food and waited for 45 minutes before receiving our food that has been sitting at the counter for 20 minutes. Our server would disappear for 10 minutes and was nowhere to be found. Asked for a side of sauce and she ran off and we had to ask again for our sauce. While sitting at our table, trash was being taken out directly next to us and was being walked around while our food was on the table. Will not be back.
I have eaten at the Maru Sushi in Grand Rapids and always had a good meal. My friends were visiting from California and I recommend that we try the Maru in East Lansing. It is just as good as the one in Grand Rapids! I had the Crouching Tiger Sushi roll and it was delicious. My friends had the Hibachi Veggie and the California roll and they both loved their meal. For the appetizers we had the Chicken Gyoza and the Crabby Mushrooms. Both were very good. We had a couple of Sapporo beers that were on tap and they were served cold. Service was also good. Highly recommend Maru!
We love Mary’s Sushi! So fresh, beautifully prepared and delish! The birthday dessert for my daughter was an artistic masterpiece. Highly recommend!
We saw this restaurant as we were heading to Applebee's takeout nearby, changed our minds, and ordered sushi on a whim probably an hour before close. Andy let me tell you, what a great whim it was!Despite the fact that we got there relatively late (traveling home from a family event), the staff was so kind and courteous. Our server in particular was attentive and gave great recommendations from them menu based on our tastes. The menu was so, SO fresh (the mango sorbet dessert is to die for), and literally everything we had was good, even the spicy dishes!!! I ordered vegetarian sushi topped with fried sweet potatoes, and let me tell you, the taste combinations this place came up with makes the hour and a half drive to get there well worth it. Keep up the great work (AND great staff)!
Service was slow..food was great!
Food was delicious but took a very very long time. Service was also exceptionally slow, and we constantly did not receive the things we asked for (a coke, silverware etc). We ended up having to get our entrees to go instead of eating there. When I got home realized they did not include ginger, wasabi, or the sauce that was supposed to come with my sushi roll. Had already been sitting for an hour and 10 min before we even asked to just get the food made to go instead. I work in the industry and am very patient, but that's ridiculous. Will not be going back anytime soon.
Good food, good service, good vibes
Was very disappointed with the [lack of] service. We were seated at 7:45, ordered before 8:00. By 9:00, we still did not have our appetizer nor did our server come by to let us know where our food was. Finally around 9:15 we got our food (no appetizer, because it was most likely forgotten), a piece of one of the rolls fell onto the ground, we asked for soy sauce when the food was brought out and after waiting another 10+ minutes I had to ask the host to bring some to the table.
