Everything was good, the menu is diverse, but our French culette came out well done instead of medium like we ordered. It still tasted good and wasn’t too tough so we still ate it but that was a little disappointing. Our waiter never came back to ask if we were enjoying our food either. The mashed potatoes and the sauce it came with were divine. The appetizer (Brie and mushroom bruschetta) was really good as well. The outdoor seating area was cozy and chic. Will give it another try but probably not before we try some other restaurants nearby first.
First time here. Ate out on the patio, which is nice if a little cramped. Service was average, nothing notable to say. Food menu seems uninspired. Options include a burger, steak, chicken Alfredo pasta, salmon, etc. Nothing that you can't find at any chain restaurant. Food was fine but was left disappointed considering the $20+ price for entrees. Probably won't be back considering how many restaurant options there are in the area.
Small but very diverse menu, with all protein including vegetarian options. Zippy, attentive service, all in a modern and clean design. Portions were again too big to allow for dessert, but we had some of the shareables before. Good beers on tap, yay! Planning to come back. This place is just hidden between student pubs and could see more traffic. Yet, it was busy, which is an excellent sign. Great value for the quality.
Based on the positive reviews, I expected to have a better experience here. We came for Sunday lunch, though found out lunch was not served until after 2pm, so we had brunch instead. The brunch menu sounded good on paper, though I ordered a breakfast bowl described as "eggs, red potatoes, sausage, bacon, topped with cheese sauce, parmesan and scallions" . What I received was eggs with sausage and cheese sauce. When I asked if there was supposed to be potatoes with the meal, we were told they were out of potatoes and I could have a side of fries if I wanted. My friends who ordered brunch also got fries on the side of their french toast. Nothing was said about the missing bacon/toppings. My friend's meal (burnt french toast) also was supposed to come with eggs and never did until asked. The food was very underwhelming and I don't normally write negative reviews, but it would be nice to let your customers know you're out of certain ingredients before just serving them the meal they ordered and hoping they don't notice half of it is missing. So basically, I paid $12 for eggs with some sausage. Service was just okay, will not be returning unfortunately.
The food was bland and undercooked, way overpriced. However, the issue I have is when I’m waiting 30 minutes to be checked on after appetizers, and never asked for our main order. I don’t want to be unreasonable and it was moderately busy- but it took way too long. Additionally, when our waiter did eventually take out order, our appetizer plates were not cleared for another at least 10 minutes. Overall, I really hope this was an off day or a new hire, but have to say I won’t be returning.Edit to add: We had a set reservation, but when we arrived we waited 10 minutes to be sat- not to wait for a table to clear, but for anyone to even come up front. 2 guys were making drinks AND waiting all the tables while 3 other staff were standing there for 1.5hr shining glasses.. So while the service wasn’t the best, I still feel bad for these 2-3 staff pulling the other half’s weight.
Delicious. The vibe is also good. Little bit of a 2000s Charmed Vibe without the live music.
Not bad, but not good. Overall the service was pretty slow and they were missing a multitude of ingredients so our order didn’t include what was advertised.Came in around lunch hour (12:00) and they weren’t ready to submit orders until 12:15pm. No worries, good company and a couple drinks will keep us happy. When we did order the food took 30-40 minutes to get. It just wasn’t really worth the wait. Maybe the dinner menu is better than the lunch menu but there are definitely better options out there.
EVERYTHING was dirty/greasy. Glasses literally had lipstick on the rims. After the 3rd set of silverware, I just used a glass of water to clean my utensils THEN they brought out plastic. I had a spinach salad, they skimped on the vinaigrette dressing. Those sweet potatoe fries are THE BEST I've ever had.The server was excellent considering the sabotaging that plagued her.Not in my top 10.Could be an isolated event, best of luck if you go.
Food w as s good. The grilled salmon had great flavor. Service was good. The drinks are weak. Would have had another but not worth the price.
We had a reservation for Friday night and because we were early, totally beat the crowd that later arrived. Even though the whole place smelled a little like fried food or maybe it was just a kitchen smell, the atmosphere was pleasant. Our booth was nice and roomy. Our waiter was very polite, efficient and on top of all of our requests. He recommended a wine that we loved, and my daughter truly enjoyed her passion fruit Shirley temple. Our dinners were absolutely delicious, starting with the Apple Mango Brie Bruschetta. Large serving for an appetizer, very good. The Blackened Tilapia was incredible, served with flavorful rice and fresh asparagus. the Spinach spaghetti (with chicken) was fresh and plentiful. the grilled sirloin was a bit strange, served sliced on top of the mashed potatoes instead of whole, but still good. We were stuffed after all of this but ordered a Chocolate cake to go and wow, was it a treat! The raspberry sauce was the best. We had. lovely time at the back cat bistro and would love to come back!
