I’ve been going to Wasabi since freshman year of college and I usually enjoy the food and the service. Today I asked the server (Sara I believe) if I could have any shrimp rolls, and she charged me for 10 pieces 12.99 of just fried shrimp. As someone who works in service I asked if there was a way to get me the food I wanted, she told me to be more specific next time and that she couldn’t get me the food that I was asking for even if I made my way back to the restaurant. It was pretty disappointing because I’ve always enjoyed Wasabi and recommend to friends. I will not be coming back, after paying for food that I did not want and receiving a poor response to the mistake they made. The server did not know the menu, she charged the food items wrong, and then refused to accommodate.
Greasy and Unflavored!Would give ZERO if I couldThe kimchi stew was so oily and greasy to the point where I couldn't even taste anything but oil. Kimchi had no flavor. Tasted of slightly peppered water and oil.Kalbi meal was drowning in oil and tasted like charred grill dropping. Turned to ash in our mouths.Gyoza was soggy and salmon skin rolls were overly salty.Find another place for Korean food because this restaurant went down the drain.
I had high expectations when going to this restaurant. I could have ordered anywhere else, but I chose to give this restaurant a try, and this is what I get. Boiled, completely unseasoned vegetables with small bits of dry, tough chicken. Will not be returning.
This place is and will forever be my fav place. Love that I can get sushi and Korean at the same time. Their soondubu is literally amazing and they even make it spicier for me sometimes if I ask. Wasabi got me through grad school and even post grad I keep ordering!! TY I hope you never close
Ughhhhh. Used to be a fan but now on the search for a new sushi spot.. I’ve frequented Wasabi for over three years. The food has always met my expectations. Service has always been average but TA-DAY! ??♀️ My order was made wrong, and NOT due to special requests…the restaurant didn’t follow their own dam recipe ? So after getting all the way home after a long 9-6 work week, cutting on a Netflix movie and getting ready to cozy up with some sushi, I realize their mistake. Ok, mistakes happen. So I call the restaurant to let them know what happened and the host goes back and forth with me about how they didn’t make a mistake and he specifically remembers boxing my food. Well sir, if you remember boxing my food then you should also remember the cucumber and avocado that wasn’t supposed to be in my roll. His solution- bring the food all the way back to the restaurant with gas being high as hell, and they’ll remake it. Ummm, ok. So now I have to get un-cozy drive all the way back to PROVE you made the meal wrong? I get back in my car, I arrive with the food and not so much as an apology for having to come all the way back there just so I can enjoy a dinner. Like I know customer service is dying, even dead in some cases, BUT really? ? Super frustrated and turned off from this place now.
My girlfriend and I were here on Wednesday, 03/09/22 we ordered the Popcorn Lobster Roll, Dungeon Dragon Roll, Double Shrimp Roll, Hulk Roll, Ninja Roll, Philadelphia Roll, Spicy Shrimp Roll, Seaweed Salad, Miso soup and Masago. Totaling slightly over $100.....It was our first time here but not our first time having sushi in Michigan. We both agreed, BEST SUSHI IN MICHIGAN!! If i could give more than five stars, I would. I hope we can come back before leaving Detroit. I highly recommend Wasabi! Our server, Sarah (spelled the right way, with the H) was phenomenal. I have had MANY bad experiences with people and their attitudes in this state but she was such a sweetheart, thank you.
I have ordered carry out several times in the past year, and every time the order was completely wrong. Its sushi roulette - order a California roll and you'll get spicy eel, or shrimp tempura. Noodle dishes are more accurate, but even then orders are missing items, or have unexpected ingredients.I've given up, and cannot recommend.
Good food. My favorite is the sweet potato roll! Must have for all my vegetarian pals out there.
Our family of four with two littles loved this place. The staff are so kind and helpful. I ordered two sushi rolls and loved them both.
