Beer Bar

Lots of room, some games to play, garage door windows and outdoor seating in a cute alley setting. When you enter, you purchase tokens to pay for your drinks (1 token for beer, 2 tokens for mixed drinks). Interesting concept that allows for quick drink service. Food available at attached area.

Came here during the day as well as after a concert in the evenings. Both cases were amazing times. Drinks are served quickly, staff is friendly, location is great. Always happy to stop by!

Take my review with a very large grain of salt. I'm not a drinker and I'm over 30. (Over 40, but who's counting?) They don't have food (but there's a "secret" fried chicken place in the back... THEIR food was amazing!!). The atmosphere is college/young urban crowd, the music entirely too loud for these old ears to hear a word spoken at the same table. I would have rated 1 star on atmosphere.... but the games at the table knocked it up one. Not my scene.

Not a bad little spot! Plenty to do, and Penny Reds makes for a good supplementary food spot. The drink token system is solid. 1 for beer. 2 for cocktails. The signage on which bar you get what from was initially confusing, but all in all; a fun place to stop on the way to Comerica.

I am usually a positive post person but … I am visiting from out of town with several of my work colleges. We are new and from Deep South where obviously things seem to be explained slower and more clearly.( no offense to my southern friends) You have to purchase token to purchase drinks, differently than actually paying cash or credit card at the bar. Great I am a great experience person but please when I asking specifically that I want liquor drinks don’t sell me just three tokens to purchase three drinks for myself (fyi you need two tokens per drink if they aren’t beer). I will admit this is great place for locals but you failed me with your failed attempts to serve me drinks. 45 minutes at the location and drink less. Three attempts and it was never explained clearly. By the third time I pulled myself and 4 others quickly from the bar as you have made it to difficult to business with. Good luck please improve communication so that everyone can enjoy the opportunity equally. This town has too many places for me to try to attempt a second visit.

Great place. Fun selection of beers and seasonal cocktails! I had a beer, and a barrel whiskey drink! It's connected to Penny Reds, so get some chicken while you are there! Delicious drinks, friendly staff.Drinks cost tokens, 1 token for beer. 2 for a cocktail. 2 tokens and a 20% tip cost $12. So not bad for two beers or one cocktail in a city bar. Full size beers too. They'll even let you sample them. Bartenders were great about answering my questions!

Cool bar no food Penny Reds next door you can eat it inside. I don’t recommend penny reds. The bar has a token concept you but them at the door for drinks. Spacious bar but no real frills.

I’m torn between a 4-5 stars because I really love the look of this place and it is a fun atmosphere and love that it’s got Penny Red’s attached. So much that I love about this place but the overall demographic seems to be very college aged. Which isn’t bad but probably not everyone’s vibe? Just something for others to consider?

We enjoyed our visit here. We went during the week and it wasn’t very busy. Bartender was friendly and helpful. We decided to eat Pennys chicken and it was delicious. Crispy herb and spiced chicken. The honey buns were to die for- and the maple pecan Brussel sprouts as a side were amazing.

Chill place to hang out after work and cool concept with the casino chips as payment. Def worth coming here especially during their happy hour where each chip is only $5. Cocktails are hit or miss so I suggest sticking with their beer as you can't mess that up. Plenty of TVs around so great place to watch sports.
