The worst ever never going back bad customer service was really bad I spoke with Manger about the situation and she place my order and it was all wrong I've been to that starters on Woodward 3 times same results I know Bob one of the owners a he is really good person but he needs to change a lot of personal on Woodward restaurant..

I’ve been going to Starters for over 20 years but never wrote a review. Starters is my go to spot! I’ve tried everything they’ve offered and I have my favs. Surf and turf is my fav with a light skin Long Island lol. Double lobster tails yum! Their salad is big and full filling. The service over the years have been exceptional! From the host to waitress to bartender to owners everyone is always give top tier service. They are the best local bar and happy hour. The happy hour menu try the steak bites fried shrimp and fish. Happy hour everyday 2-7 you can’t beat that! My fav location is the original on Plymouth rd. Southfield and Woodward rocks too. I’ve been to Woodward four times since May 9th. So yes I love them all. My motto is I’ll try anything once, twice if I like it!

We had a large party in back room for my great nephew birthday on 3/14! I has the shrimp fries. Didn't get my waitress name but she was THEE best y'all!! She handles all of our crazy butts with grace. Thank you young lady!! Even the manager, who assisted with a tower drink x2. I will come back again. Thank you Starters. I really has a good time. Family and fresh hot food!!!!!
It's so bad i wanna give you a 0, but that's impossible.. so i give you a one.So over the years I feel like this establishment has gone downhill. They've always had pretty good food and drinks but the last few times that i went .. everything was SUBPAR. Since the pandemic started .. I rarely dine in and last night i decided to treat myself to some dinner and drinks. So i went to starters.. I expected it to be packed by it being a Saturday evening so the wait time wasn't the issue for me.. My friend and i decided to sit at the bar so that we could order faster. When we got to the bar .. we were not greeted and the last patrons drinks and mess was still sitting there. I got a bartenders attention and then finally we were greeted and serviced. The bartenders attitude was kind of flat at first but she became more friendly as we sat there. She was cool. I ordered the chicken wing ding dinner with a side of Mac and asparagus that i ended up sending back because the chicken did not taste fresh at all. So when I got the second plate it was better but still not that great. I ate it and drank my cocktails. Later on that night i woke up with extreme abdominal cramping , diarrhea and vomiting.. I HAD FOOD POISONING. I was in absolute hell. I went to the dr and they gave me a prescription for nausea. I will never patronize at this restaurant again! I didn't eat anything else after i got home.. I only had a cup of tea so I KNOW it was from eating there. BEWARE!!
Had a cowboy steak dinner. Corn on the cob was over cooked and mushy. Baked potato had no life, seemed microwaved. Steak was awful. Who uses large grain cracked pepper? The pepper tasted like it was put on the steak after cooking it. I’ll spend a little more and just stick to Eddie V’s next time. Or make my own. Through with restaurants under 4.6 stars.
Now, I really liked this place until I got introduced to the Plymouth location and now I’ll rarely ever go back here. The food is way better at the Plymouth location. Ali, the manager is amazing though. Tati, the bartender is also amazing. My con here though is that they bring you the bill after you order literally one thing, it’s like they’re always in a rush to get you out. Then if you order something else, they just make a new bill.. just wasting paper and it’ll make someone uncomfortable very quick.
Everything was great! Although we got there 20 mins before them closing we still got fresh food, which was delicious, excellent service from Diamond, and enjoyed a great vibe! Definitely will be back!
