the hotel was nice, we stayed at the hotel 1 night, at 12:30am an obnoxious wedding party decided to knock on doors, talk and yell loudly in the hall way, slam doors, so we tried to call the front desk to have them do something about this noise problem and they didn't answer the phone, we called 4 different times, so finally my husband went downstairs and the front desk stated "Oh we don't answer the phones at night". so this went on a while longer when finally they said they would send up securtiy. That morning about 10am we checked out, gave our key to the front desk and never asked us how our stay was. Worst experience i've had at a hotel.
Very nicely decorated and friendly staff
Hot coffee and Turkey jerky for $7.Average service.
Unexpectedly accommodating. This is only my second stay here and this stay the staff went above and beyond to help with a wardrobe issue. It was also the first time I’ve had room service here and the food was delicious; I had a Turkey BLT. The Food service lady Sharon Also went above and beyond her job I feel, made my meal extra balanced. All orchestrated by Michelle the service express woman. The Westin book Cadillac team was definitely here to help me be my best.
My son and I spent the weekend in Detroit watching all the opening weekend baseball games and spent three nights at the Westin Book Cadillac. Our room was large, clean and comfortable and we had a lovely City view. The shower was great and the water was always hot and had great pressure. The hotel is in a great location and we enjoyed walking in the neighbourhood and checking out the independent coffee shops, restaurants and the new retail which is developing. From Rwonshonda who checked us in and out at the front desk, to the valet staff and the in-room dining staff, everyone was incredibly friendly and hospitable and the service was excellent!! A big shout out to Ciara, our great server in the Motor Bar who took care of us on all three nights when we stopped in for drinks and who really made useful at home - she is a great ambassador for the hotel and the City!!
Should you experience any difficulty while traveling(delayed/canceled flights, change in arrival time, etc.) you will be forced to deal with the quagmire of WBC Detroit's reservation system- a call center in Mexico City, Mexico which will be unable to help but will direct you back to the hotel number(Press Ext. 0) which will frequently ring without ever being answered. Particularly problematic if one books via Priceline, Trip Advisor, Kayak, etc. Marriot Corporation outsourcing at its worst.
We booked 2 rooms here. In the downtown area and pretty much walkable to everywhere downtown. The Starbucks downstairs was very convenient. Rooms were clean (no room service requested) and very spacious. Bathroom clean. No complaints during my stay here. There is a restaurant on the 2nd floor. Food/Drinks were ok.
Great staff always smiling fast service and the best coffee makers EVER...
The Westin in downtown Detroit opened to considerable fanfare back in 2008. Unfortunately, it's been run into the ground since then. Rooms are outdated and dilapidated. Everything looks early 2000s. Just tired. Service is inconsistent and not on par with an upscale, full-service hotel brand. The flagship restaurant closed. Save your money and stay at the Holiday Inn Express. It's a better experience for less money. Alternatively, book the Shinola for an upscale experience.
We stayed at the Westin Book Cadillac for a wedding and had an excellent experience. Well situated in downtown Detroit, we had a spacious room with a great view over the Detroit River. Normal COVID restrictions were in place, so minimal housekeeping but our room was clean and we had everything needed for the weekend. With friendly staff and a fun bar, we'd definitely stay again if we're in Detroit.
