My friend and I visited the Slows food truck at a Redford Library event. It’s been a while since I’ve had Slows, so I really looked forward to enjoying it again. Slows did not disappoint, the food was excellent! My friend was bummed that the brisket sold out but loved the “Reason” sandwich she ordered along with the pit beans to share; I ordered the ribs. My only suggestion is to include or offer napkins and or better yet a wet nap with each order. My friend got a peanut bag with utensils and a napkin/wet nap; I didn’t get anything with my ribs and had to get a napkin from my car.
It was our first time going to SLOWS the Beef Brisket was delicious. My daughter loved the macaroni and cheese. My friend had the Big Three which looked so good. You got to try their carrot cake ... which the 3 of us shared. Our waiter Scott was awesome!! The atmosphere was great It was good to be around friendly staff and customers. Definitely going back.
Great service. Great food.
Tasty food for a ladies night out. Our libations were the El Diablo and the Jack Rose. The Jack Rose was the winner for my sister but I favored the less sweet, tequila based El Diablo. We were going to order a root beer but the server didn’t recommend it that day and brought us a sample. The root beer was strong in the vanilla department but lacking in the fizzy soda area. The brisket melted in our mouths. By far the best item we ordered, although the waffle fries where a close second. Gluten free waffle fries are hard to come by. I ended up really enjoying dipping them in the sweet potato mash. The ribs were good. For us the portion sizes were perfect. We ordered ribs with a side of brisket. We did order two sides of waffle fries. I enjoyed trying all but one bbq sauce. The sweet sauce is not gluten free. The slaw is mayonnaise based so we did not try that because of an egg sensitivity. The waiter was helpful and brought out a list of all the allergens to the table. My sister and I were delighted when we found out we could eat here. It did not disappoint. The official door looks like part of the siding. Street parking was available.
The ribs had a strangely hard crust and were not tender inside. The baked beans were mushy. The mac n'cheese only so-so. This place has been highly touted but we were sorely disappointed.
This place was amazing. BBQ was great, bar was amazing, seating was good. Ordered the big three last night and I wanted to come back for lunch today because it was so good. Bourbon on the bar was well priced. Service was impeccable.Overall for the food the big three was good. order was brisket, chicken, then pulled pork. The sauces were good but even better once paired with the food. Favorites were mustard, apple, and nc.They take reservations and it would probably be a good idea to get one. Also the front door is disguised. Don't be confused when walking up. Lastly the parking enforcement is aggressive. Be careful when parking.
I got The Texan with waffle fries. The Texan was good and juicy but fatty. The waffle fries were good.Friendly staff and clean place. There are a few parking spots in front but if you’re planning to go on a weekend you might need to park somewhere else and walk there.
Returned post pandemic and was just as delicious as I remembered. Our server was fabulous. He came within minutes of us being seated, took our drink orders, came back not longer after and took our meal orders. Our food came out not long after and everything was yum, yum. ? Still 5 stars ?
Ribs were good. They have 6 different barbecue sauces. I really liked the apple one. The Mac and cheese was good. I also really liked the sweet potato mash.
A great BBQ find in Detroit. The banana pudding for desert and carrot cake were just a great way to end the meal. The Bbq sandwiches such as The Reason, Yardbird or the Big Three Sampler bbq plate are all great. The mac and cheese, mashed sweet potatoes, smoked baked beans and on this day chicken jambalaya. Sauces were plentiful and varied.
