A pizzeria worth returning to!This particular Shield's pizza was incredibly friendly and accommodating. Every time I've sat down to eat at this restaurant, I've been greeted with nothing but pleasant enthusiasm. I tip my hat off to the staff for creating a welcoming environment.The inside of the building is very open, but a bit dim in lighting. It feels like a red leather "smoking room" mixed with a classic pizzeria. It was very clean each time I visited, and the tables were obviously wiped down after each customer had left.I've only ever tried out their pizza, and from that alone I can say that they do not disappoint their name sake. The pizzas that I have tried are almost addictively good. I would have to say that my favorite pizza they have to offer is the Margarita Pizza. The toppings are plentiful, the cheese is soft, and the crust is just the right amount of chewy and crunchy.Shield's Restaurant Bar Pizzeria on Woodward is definitely a dinner experience you must have at least once. I would say that this restaurant would be fun for any type of occasion: Family, Business, Casual, or formal.
My pizza was full of sauce and meat like I Love it. My salad was the right portion. The waiter was friendly and attentive. I lived the warmth of Birthday vibes all around me. People were celebrating family friendly events. I left this restaurant filling fulfilled.
We get the delicious fried zucchini and meatballs every week. For the last 2 weeks they have been burnt or the breading isn't sticking whoever is in the kitchen do better or quit. They taste burn also super disgusting
What a lovely event. We had dinner in honor of my father who recently passed away. Karla and her staff were fantastic. The food and service were exceptional. So glad we had our affair there.
Pretty decent, very close to the DIA. The pretzel sticks were good as well as the meat lovers pizza.

Great place for pizza. I read somewhere this place was voted best Pizza in Michigan? I know I have been coming to Shields since I was in high school and they have never disappointed. Unfortunately I only took a pic of the pasta ordered ?. Go figure when we had an array of pizza on the table. Smh ??. It was delicious!
It was nice and quiet. Our waitress was wonderful and it was really quiet. The card machine was down but that’s the only down side of my visit.
I brought first time visitors to Detroit for Detroit Style Pizza and they raved about the food!! We got 3 smalls and a salad and were stuffed after sampling each!! Isabella was an amazing waitress!!
Fun vibe, good food would definitely eat there again
