what a lucky chance to come across this place. great food, great service, looking forward to coming back for dinner
Came for dinner to have the tasting menu a couple nights ago and it was a great experience. The service was really exceptional and sitting on the shaded patio was lovely, nice and cool even though it was a really hot sunny day. The food was all great, would definitely recommend adding the bone marrow appetizer to your meal, it was so delicious! 100% looking forward to our next meal here the next time we're visiting from Toronto!
I enjoyed my course meal at Marrow tonight. I think that if I had more than one person I'd definitely try much more of the menu. The lamb dish was insanely good and that alone is worth stopping by. If I come back to Detroit I'll likely come back, as this was the best restaurant I had when I was [email protected]
Review is long overdue, but I loved eating here when we went in May and it met all expectations. We had the: roasted bone marrow, house gnocchi, lobster maitake dumplings, Michigan beef, ricotta donut, and buttermilk panna cotta. It's tough to pick a favorite because it was all exquisite and can't think of a con the entire time all around with the experience including atmosphere and the waitstaff who were all very informative and friendly. Parking was easy on a Sunday night too which was a plus for me (parking can tend to stress me out especially going to a new place.) If we're back in Detroit, will look up availability.
I am a fan of Top Chef, and Chef Welch was one of my favorites this season. When I found out we were coming to Detroit for a family event, I had to get a reservation. My reservation quickly morphed from a party of 4 to party of 9, but they were able to accommodate. We had a prix fixe menu which was excellent! Some of the people in my party were not adventurous eaters, but they were able to accommodate. After the meal, our lease adventurous eaters regretted ordering the prix fixe. The food was amazing!! I am still dreaming of the flavors 24 hours later!! All seasonal Michigan flavors. Trust Chef Welch! Ambiance was cozy and allowed my family to sit, relax, catch up, and enjoy the food. I strongly recommend experiencing Marrow. You won’t regret it!
Delicious food, fun atmosphere and friendly staff! We will be back!
The food! The food! The food! Beautiful space, great staff!
We came for lunch. Had the tinned fish, salad, steak sandwich and a few drinks split between us. Prices fair. Service was great and we chatted with Maggie the bartender the whole time. Had several well made cocktails. Left happy and satisfied.
Marrow is one of the best dining experiences we've had in the US!!! Patrick our server was spectacular, but the entire team of people working there were lovely and the outdoor seating was perfect. The food was honestly some of the best I've eaten and it was the perfect place to spend my birthday. They were so accommodating and wonderful- I wish I lived closer so I could go more often! My husband got the tasting menu, but I did the a la carte because I had to try the gnocchi- and I'm so glad I did! The tartare was something I will dream about! Thrilled to be able to have such a special occasion and still feel safe eating outdoors- grateful for the experience!
Absolutely, hands down, flavors and textures that will delight. Pricing is uneven. I will return, but less often than if it were a better value. Try sticking to the appetizers, and go down the street for a drink afterwards. Be prepared for word-play (precious and annoying), e.g., "gnocchi" are not really gnocchi; "dumplings" are not really dumplings, but were out of this world flavorful.
