This is a safe space firstly. This is an alternative club(not a gentleman's club)and there is a door fee every night. They take cash and venmo.Have good etiquette. Expired IDs and lack thereof are turned away. This is the place to get the best deal on drinks in the outskirts of downtown.

Staple venue of Detroit. Looks like something out of a Tim Burton movie. It's got quite a bit of character. Always a fun time here. Don't listen to the reviews bashing on the staff because they're actually really nice people. Most of the negative reviews are from people who can't hold their liquor and don't know how to keep their attitudes in check. Just don't be a jerk.

Last time I was there was in 2014 and the atmosphere was pretty industrial/gothic, so cool. Now it turned out to be an Emo club, you will only hear Chemical Romance, Good Charlotte & Fall out boy. They are no longer using the huge high ceiling salon, but a small corridor. People 30 & beyond should refrain from going, I never felt so old in my life ? ??

This is and always will be the goth club of goth clubs. Its kind of dank and awkward but always safe and fun. This isnt a club you order custom drinks at either. Prices on normal sling em drinks is still cheaper then most newer places. They have the best theme nights and plenty of parking nearby. Appreciate what it is not what it isn't. You can find a friendly sport bar on every corner if that's what you are after.

It’s a far cry from its Sybil Carter days. I hope one day Mike Higgins can get it back to what he and Stirling started almost 40 years ago. It’s going to take a lot of money, the infrastructure is really bad and just getting worse.

Always have a great time here and the staff is really kind.

I was also there with Hades Garden. The door lady completely threw me for a loop with her attitude. She was rude and snarky with anything anyone said. Everyone gave each other a look like “did that seriously just happen?”The bartender only offered straight shots and basic drinks.DJ for the night was fantastic and super polite. The place has an awesome theme and probably would have been my new favorite spot if it wasn’t for that door lady and apparently the owner who decided to chime in on a review as well. The owners response in that review was extremely unprofessional and it seems like a soft spot was hit when commenting on the bartender. Not sure if they’re making up things to cover their faults or completely assuming they knew who left that review.Touch staff?? Ha, if anything we had to watch out for the door lady trying that on some of our group. Her bi-polar attitude was off the walls.Slapping the bar?? I’m laughing even harder at this point. Yes (sarcasm), the extremely quiet person that usually has other people get them drinks to avoid social interaction slapped the bar and touched staff. Hmm funny.Looking at reviews, the door lady has been an issue for years. The bartender apparently has 20+ years of experience. Me? I’ve only got roughly 5 years in customer service and know how to act more professional. Read your guests better and maybe take some advice from your reviews.I liked the venue and DJ, staff ruined it for me.

I was there with Hades Garden and no one remotely touched staff in anyway nor did they conduct themselves in a rude or unprofessional manner towards the bartender. Your bartender couldn't even make simple shots. The only thing he could make was a rum and coke. Which wasn't worth $8. Now regarding the door lady, I'm highly disgusted with how she conducted herself commenting on my behind and crude flirting. She made my friends and boyfriend really uncomfortable. Dj and security guard were super nice tho ☺

Door girl was EXTREMLY rude going inside and leaving, she made inappropriate comments. My friend said it was cold to me and she over heard and told him to shut up. Bartender didn't know how to make any mixed drinks. He couldn't even give me a plain shot of Jaeger and a can of redbull cause he said he didn't know how....awesome environment but horrible workers.

City Club is fantastic! Cool vibes and cool people!
