Try the aecht schlenterla rauchbier (might have spelled that wrong). This beer is unlike any beer you've ever had before. It has a delicious smoked flavor. The food here is also very good.
Decent place. Interesting bar because of the age. Thier main appeal is the traditional German food and beer. Average . Not a must see in me book
What an amazing place. The oldest bar in Detroit. Great selection of beer and the food was just incredible. German meatballs with Spaetzle is a must try as well as the schnitzel and potato pancakes. I wish I lived near this place. A weekly dinner for sure

Reuben was spectacular, meatballs mediocre and Schnitzel a disappointment. Spatzle was cold upon arrival. Details on 1 order were incorrect.
Came here for a meal while in detroit for the Quick Lane Bowl! Service was friendly, food was delicious for both my friend and I (I got Chicken Tenders, he got Potato Pancakes). Our server was Nichole. The atmosphere was lovely, and the food was delicious! Can’t wait to visit again.
This is a fine establishment. I would recommend this place to any friend. They have a small but good menu. Lots of German beer options. I believe 15 beers on tap. I recommend getting the German meat balls. I also recommend getting a Chimay even thow it's a Belgium beer
