Got wind of them after attending Vegan Fest at the Eastern Market. I'm so glad I did! First off, the service and delivery was great. Secondly, the oatmeal cookies were delicious. The brownies were gooey and moist. I like the Cookie Butter Cake icing, and the cake itself is fluffy and soft. I can't wait to try the chocolate chip cookies and more brownies! I also know where I will be ordering my Red Velvet Cake that I've been craving!
*Updated in response to owner*It is Iffy in the sense you are only open 4 days a week 12-6 correct? It is not really convenient for most not just me. You can not grab a snack in route to work you are closed, you can not grab something after work you are closed. You are open while most people are at work. I am giving a review based on my experience, interaction and opinion overall. It may not always be what you “do not like. ” You may want to try a more gentle response to criticism in which you question, especially those in which have supported your business.Great treats and good service. The hours are just iffy and inconvenient at times to people who really want to support them.
I placed my order on Sunday for a Thursday pickup. I should've read the reviews and canceled my $68.90 order:1 whole Lemon Velvet cake NO FLAVOR & DRY,1 slice of Strawberry Crunch cake ONLY STRAWBERRY LAYERS HAD FLAVOR1 slice of Rainbow cake NO FLAVOR & DRYEverthing was cold (not fresh) and had a huge amount of overly sweetened icing.UPDATE:I received a very kind email and everything has been resolved.I might give them another try in the future.
Consistently DEE-LICIOUS❣️The aroma alone gets you at "hello" Vegan options are EQUALLY delightful. Took husband on a "sweet treat shopping spree" for birthday & they did not disappoint?
Good Cakes and Bakes gave my mom a great 91st birthday. She loved the sublime and moist chocolate with yellow batter cake. We also really liked the 7 Up cake which is so good it really doesn't need icing or no more than a light lemon glaze. Also, the delivery was fantastic. The only thing I would recommend is perhaps using the Booksy app with a reminder of what time the cake will be delivered. I will definitely order from Good Cakes and Bakes again. I hope to order the German Chocolate Cake for a friend's upcoming birthday.
I've never been to your bakery but did have some of your cupcakes gifted to me and I have to say they are the best cupcakes I've ever had!
Let’s talk about this place. First off can we say YESSSSSS!!! TO THE INSIDE. I knew this place was going to be amazing and it was every bit of that. So I tried the cake of the month, the strawberry crunch cupcake, 7up pound cake and the cold brew. My friend had the banana pudding without banana (i know crazy but oh so delicious), a vegan brownie, and a sugar cookie.We loved every bit of what we got. The flavors, the icing and the service. I love this Detroit staple and can’t wait to go back. If you haven’t been to this bakery and you live in Detroit what are you even doing?. I will add photos of the items when I get to my phone.
My out-of-state sister-in-law ordered a cake from Good Cakes for her mother's birthday. It was delivered when promised, absolutely beautiful, and utterly delicious. Guests raved! Will definitely order from them again.
The cakes and pastries were phenomenal. The customer service was top notch, the employee explained the flavors and tastes of the cakes my wife and I pointed too. I will most definitely go back.
I was just in and excited to try... I didn't really know what I wanted so I asked a few questions...the person who waited on me made me feel like I was a bother to them... I asked for a certain piece of cake and the lady said I would just have to take the one in rotation... I was set to purchase more BUT I decided the service was sub par...I left with the piece she wanted me to have instead of the one I wanted and more money in my pocket...
