I am still thinking about the old and bad meat they served me for take out during the memorial holiday weekend. I asked for unsauced ribs tips, guess what? There was sauce on them, and it appeared that the person serving my take out was a little shocked I wanted to examine my food before paying. That's when I discovered the sauce on the rib tips. I should have cancelled my meals then. Something that simple, couldn't be adhered to. As I could not wrap my mind around, why the rib tips could not be replace with other rib tips; which did not have sauce. It appeared the server could not understand my request. Should have cancelled meals again. They gave a free slice of cake for the mishap, which appeared to be a justifiable gesture. However, after planning to have several servings for the holiday weekend, I discovered the turkey and rib tips were tough, and difficult to chew, leaving me to believe, that is why the server couldn't give a correction to my rib tip meal. Turkey meat was dry and tough as well! Dressing was tasty, other sides bland. WORSE SOUL FOOD EXPERIENCE EVER!

This is one of the few places in Detroit that has REAL Soul Food. I have ordered from here several times now and the food is flavorful with generous portions. The menu is a little different daily so call ahead. On the weekends go early. My favorites are the oxtails with gravy, smothered catfish, and thr fried chicken.All the sides are good, including the spaghetti (which most places don't do right) but my favorite is the dressing!! They do a great job at making sure the food is fresh but fresh also means that they run out of things on busier days or later at night. It's not fast food so, certain items may take a while but the food is worth the wait. There is no dine-in, carryout only! Closed on Mondays.
The place was super clean, they had a very friendly staff. I got the beef meatloaf with dressing and garlic mash they have huge portions at reasonable prices I would recommend Anyone to that soulfood place a 10/10
