So I'm going to be reasonable with this review. Their prices are EXTREMELY GOOD. But almost too good....when I called to places Togo order, I felt like I was kinda rushed. I asked what was the menu like because they don't have an online menu. The lady over the phone kinda sounded irritated with me. I ordered some tamales and asked for green ones with chicken.... Considering this is a "Mexican restaurant" and with me having a Hispanic background, I was excited to hear about this place... But they don't have ANY green TAMALES! Their breakfast burrito that had potatoes had an odd taste... Me and my boyfriend were not pleased. Authentic tamales are THICK, moist and most Hispanic eateries MAKE GREEN TAMALES! I should've known better... ? Just a warning, if you're genuinely Hispanic... I don't think you will like their tamales here AT ALL. The Maseca probably doesn't even have Manteca in it ? the tacos weren't bad, but y'all should offer tortilla milagro instead of plain corn white tortillas. Way better taste :')
The best place to go to for pure authentic Mexican food. After relocating from AZ to MI I was in the mood and this place has a warm cozy feeling, the meal was amazing we will definitely come back again
Got some spicy pork tamales and a cup of beans to go! Best tamales I’ve ever had hand down(don’t tell my grandma)!
Great Tamales. They aren't dine-in anymore, at least not for the time being. Their breakfast burritos looked good too. Maybe next time I'll get them when I'm more hungry. Overall, Evie's a place worth trying.
This place is the best! No glam or glitz nothing but authentic food. The tamales are top notch and the breakfast burritos are yummy!
I My favorite place and was the best place to get tamales. The last time I went they were very bland. Like the meat inside wasn't seasoned. My family was very disappointed this last time.
My family has been going here for years we love Evie's
Best Tamales this side of the Rio Grand! Sell out of them daily. Have a full menu also. Great, friendly people and a staple of Southwest Detroit.
I’ve been getting tamales here for at least twenty years and these are the best around. I’ve only had a few other menu items and those have been good too. The last couple years though I’ve had a few batches that were not so great, not sure why…. I really think they should renovate the interior and modernize it, even raise the menu prices a little if they need to generate the extra income, not sure how it would effect the rest of business though but sure would be nice to see this place grow and prosper.
Our Family has been going down there more than 50 years. Safe area, clean surroundings. Thee BEST place to go for REAL MEXICAN FOOD!!!
