Our 1st experience here today:Great customer service from Paul & Marcia did her Thang!?We ordered turkey chop dinner w/yams & collards, salmon dinner w/yams & collards & wing dinner w/ mac & cheese & fries. My one and only negative was the over cooked turkey chops. I will definitely be back to give the chops a 2nd try. So 4stars until then! ???
This restaurant is located near me. I decided to try it out. The burgers are really good if your lucky enough to get one. The wings are terrible unseasoned and dry they didn’t taste smoked more like gas bbqed. I tried a couple times to get brisket but they never have any available. The wait time is ridiculous and the cashier is allowed to come to work without even brushing her hair so she probably didn’t brush her teeth either. Overall not worth the wait or money and super unorganized. This is an honest review so to the owner keep your unprofessional remarks to yourself and take constructive criticism.
Service was ok but The lady that waited on me was irritated because I asked to see the potato salad because the menu says red skin potato salad and when she showed it to me it clearly wasn’t I asked to see it because when I asked her what was in it her comment was everything that you would put in it that was not clear to me I needed to know if it was onions if it was celery if it was bell pepper etc. so I asked to see it when I saw it that’s why I asked to see it because it’s not what it says on the menu And the food was not good enough to go again macaroni and cheese was very dry green beans were just green beans no white potatoes no flavor straight out the can with maybe some oil or something in them The sweet potatoes were different they were bland just sweet enough Baked beans were not all that but they were the best tasting side I ordered they tasted like doctored up pork and beans The chicken wings were very large although they were smoked they were not completely done the skin was real moist and soft The best thing was my ribs I ordered a half a slab they were cut single boned so I feel like they may have been old and I did like the muffin
The food was AMAZING!! However I will not return due to the unprofessional cashier. On the site, the lunch special comes with a drink. I was told it was "old" and "she" has to fix it. I asked for a refund and instead got the pop I should have gotten in the 1st place. Customer service is everything when I'm spending my hard earned money.Very very disappointed
So we called and they were not open yet. So we decided to arrive around 12:30 well we were asked could we wait a few minutes because they just opened. We did just that. The owners wife was very nice. She took our order and told us it would be about a 45 minute wait. Well that 45 minutes turned into and hour and a half. The food was great that burger was to die for. That turkey leg was everything and the bake beans yes indeed. I hope the owner enjoyed his birthday. We will return and hope that all goes well. I think good things will come from this place. May God continue storing Blessings upon you.
Enjoyed the food had rib tip dinner Mac and cheese and collard greens also ordered their Ruth Chris Burger. Short one star because of the wait but other than that food was great!
I sent my daughter to buy me some food at this establishment, and the woman behind the counter with the rag on her head was soooo nasty the way she talked to my daughter and the other customers behind my daughter! I was on the phone listening because I was making the order. Not only was she nasty but the roll was so hard I couldn’t eat it, greens was dry not Southern at all and the Mac and cheese was dry with not enough cheese and, The ribs was the only thing edible in my plate. I was so disappointed ? The customers behind her was saying they would NEVER come back there again because she was snapping at them and my daughter said she would not return there either!!! After I tasted the food I AGREE!!!
The customer service was good. Everyone was friendly and patient as this was my first time at the restaurant. As for the food; I have to admit I have had better. The sauce is extremely bland! Sauce is everything, so I would recommend working on that fast. Bake beans were tasty, but the green beans tasted out of the can. Greens were fresh, but bland as well. In addition, they didn’t have half of the sides on the menu and I also feel that is an issues (no corn, potato salad etc).
Legit BBQ that made my Southern soul happy.Got the lunch portion of ribs with Mac N Cheese and baked beans. The star was the sauce: finally, good BBQ sauce in Michigan! The ribs had great smoky flavor with good smoke penetration, and they were cooked with just the right amount of bite. The baked beans were unique but in a good way. The Mac n cheese was good, I liked it but I’ll try the green beans next time.This is my new go to for BBQ.
The service was actually very good. The people working there are very friendly so they weren't the issue at all. The issue I had with this place was that they were out of just about everything I was originally trying to order so I ended up settling for what they did have available. Once I got it home to eat the food was not good at all. The best thing included in my order was the piece of cinnamon cake I ordered for dessert. The ribs were really chewy and fatty and the turkey leg was bland and tough. The sides were... Ahhh... Like they left something to be desired and they didn't even have all the sides available on their menu either so I had to settle for sides I really didn't want. Nice people here most definitely but the food is nothing to write home about which was disappointing for the inflated pricing at this place. Yes, they are expensive for the quality. Either lower the prices or increase the food quality and availability or this place won't be around very long as they simply won't be able to compete with the other restaurants in the area
