Love this place. I was in Detroit for a convention and found this place. Awesome food and service, plus LGBTQ+ friendly.
Was there yesterday for late Brunch. They got us in really fast. Are waitress was super friendly and helpful...Food was excellent and on point..I never eat duck.. but the Duck bop hash was super delish..My friends loved there Sammy Benny's as well..I am a chef and i know good quality and fresh ingredients when I see them..Looking forward to coming back very soon. Ty for a great experience..
Amazing menu, especially the specials. Friendly, very competent wait staff, always attentive. It is such a great experience.
Came here on a Friday morning and there was about a 15 minute wait. It was 100% worth it. I loved the food here. We both had eggs bennys - one original and one salmon. One of the eggs was over cooked but according to my SO “not incredibly over cooked”. You can tell the ingredients were fresh. The fruit bowl was great and the side of potatoes were seasoned tasty, crispy. The wait staff was great as well. Def would recommend
Came on Saturday around 1pm and was about an hour and 15 min wait (there is an atrium in the building with comfortable seating). They don't take reservations and it isn't a very big restaurant , so highly recommend you plan accordingly. We probably ended up waiting around 45 min because we didn't mind eating at the bar. It was definitely worth the wait! I got the duck bap hash and my husband got the key lime French toast. Both were flavourful and interesting dishes that were moderately priced. It felt like a really great establishment, it's hard to describe but it felt inclusive and welcoming. Note if you park at the financial district parking they will validate parking for first 2 hours.
Read some good reviews about this place and I wasn’t as impressed as I hoped to be coming to this place. I do have to say that I was battling a toothache when I came so it could be part of why I didn’t enjoy it as much. I ordered the salmon benny and it was pretty flavorful but the potatoes that came with it as a said was close to overcooked. I asked for some less overcooked potatoes and they gladly brought me out some freshly made potatoes. My bf had the duck dish and it was pretty tasty. His food tasted a lot better than mine. His was sweet and spicy and the flavors messed well together. I am glad that I tried the food here but it isn’t somewhere that I would be rush to come back to. The service was good and quick. We were seated right away and received our food within 20 minutes from ordering.
Great dining experience! Interior feels like a diner, super delish menu, and friendly staff! Our group got a selection of the specials (including the key lime French toast, pulled pork Benny, and Shawarma scramble), and I got the Santa Fe omelette. All of the toast came with a delish berry jam, and the food was incredible. I would highly recommend stopping here for brunch if you get the chance!
Great dive restaurant, it’s not going to be a quiet place to go get a bite… but you will be so glad you did!!!For real, awesome service. From the management and my server. I went in and sat at the bar area watching the cooks. They did great and we’re very efficient and working hard. The drinks were Good. The food even better. I loved my experience here and met some awesome people. Will for sure be back.
The Dime Store is truly popular -- the place was almost full at 9 on a recent Sunday morning. The food is copious and well-prepared. I had a delicious biscuit and a bowl of mixed fruit (some not quite ripe, but basically ok) plus a very good cappuccino. Scrambled eggs were light and fluffy. Get there early -- there was a line waiting to get in.
Small restaurant with amazing breakfast. A couple friends and I split a couple different plates. French toast with peaches was 12/10 and the chicken shawarma hash was pretty good as well. If you're a fan of biscuits, definitely get that instead of the English muffin, it's huge! Small wait but worth it, even with it being busy our server was attentive. Glad to have found this place, will be back.
