We ordered the catfish, cheeseburger, collard greens, hopping John and coleslaw. Everything was delicious and hot, fresh and seasoned well.Big props to the owner for running the joint solo the whole day (her employee was sick and she was forced to operate the entire space alone), she was poised and gracious and just lovely.Great food, great vibe.
ive been wanting to go here for years and i finally got to go! i loved the okra soup and the candied yams, the curried potato salad was immaculate. I ate so much i had to unbutton my pants for the drive home.
My food was ready approximately at the time they promised everything I ordered was delicious this was the first time ordering vegan food the chili was absolutely amazing the collard greens was the best greens I have ever eaten I usually don’t eat collard greens because everybody cannot cook collard greens but they were season perfectly and very tender macaroni and cheese surprisingly had a very good flavor for them to be vegan will definitely be ordering there again very soon..Oh Yes baby!!! My green life smoothie was the icing on the cake to go with my meal was the best smoothie I have ever ordered out..it was so good…can’t wait until next weekend:)
The food is very good. The ladies there are so professional and of good cheer. They are always so pleasant when I visit. The Mac n cheese is the bomb!!!! My favorite item and the “Soul Platter” is filling, good snd contains a variety of vegan sides .I’ll keep patronizing this place..it’s very clean inside (only open for carry out though)
Greeted us, walked us through the menu, the place looked good, smelled good she the food was good. I had the Mac, greens, tofu ribs, beans n rice and yams. I didn't like the tofu ribs.
Omnivore here, but I have several friends who are vegan... and Detroit Vegan Soul is my first suggestion when we go out for lunch. I've enjoyed many of the delicious choices on the menu (check out the daily menu for yummy surprises) and don't feel like I'm missing out. Highly recommend.
Loved the soul food platter. Costs about $20 but very yummy & will fill you up.
Detroit big assault is one of the best vegan food that I can ever go to when I am in the mood for comfort food great selections great smoothies absolutely love their vegan soul platter I highly recommend being sold for comfort food for veganese and also whoever wants to try vegan food for the first time
I order here for my birthday and I most definitely wasn’t let down. I took a risk and decided to try food that I never had before which was the barbecue tofu sandwich withcoleslaw (on the sandwich) a side of potato salad and hoppin John .Everything was a 9/10; I never really care for potato salad and even that was good . This going to be my new spot for now on .
We preordered our Thanksgiving dinner from Detroit Vegan Soul. Thought we would support a small business and enjoy some great food. Even though they took the $84 out of our bank account weeks ago our order wasn’t there. They said it was “lost” and there was no food for us. So, at 5pm the evening before Thanksgiving we are left to scramble and brave the stores. I was offered a $25 credit and a rude attitude from the manager acting like I’m the one that messed up. Thanks for ruining Thanksgiving!!! I would be careful ordering online with them, they like to take your money and not give you food.
