Love the food, talks to the soul. Friendly service makes you feel at home. Pack your patience, worth the wait. Five stars after they work out the wait times.

Amazing food! If you haven’t tried it out yet you have too! I ordered a catfish dinner with yams and rice. I also got a turkey wing dinner with greens. Everything was fresh; some of the best soul food I’ve had in the D!P.S. you gotta get the peach cobbler

I love this place. Polite staff, clean restaurant and awesome food!! Definitely going back...

The food is awesome. This is the best fried chicken I ever had! They could just sell chicken and be a 5 star. But don't forget the baked chicken and fried fish. The cook in the back knows her way around the spice rack and don't leave without that strawberry shortbread cake. Please don't change cooks or the quality of this food!!!

The food was tasty well seasoned and the staff were super friendly

Today is my first day actually going there or even knowing about it! The place smells so clean, the staff was so friendly, my order was put in FRESH! Bought me and my mama an early Mother's Day dinner with Smothered Porkchops, Macaroni n Cheese, Greens, Dressing with Gravy, and it came with 2 Cornbread muffins! SUPPORT THIS BEAUTIFUL BLACK OWNED BUSINESS!? . THEY ARE AMAZING ❤️..(this is an honest review coming from me, a new and now continuing customer!)

I have frequented this establishment since they have opened. The food is amazing!!! Every time I have gone, I have been greeted with a smile and professionalism. Sundays are a lot busier than other days so be prepared for a wait. Even with this you are informed of the wait time. However you can see them working with urgency to get your order done. If you are looking for good soul food try this place, you won't be disappointed!!!

April 1st is very sentimental to me. Lost my adoptive grandpops 26yrs ago today. Usually make his favorite dishes, decided to take a cooking break looking for a soul food restaurant that has his style. Definitely enjoyed my smothered pork chop, 3piece fried chicken dinner with mac, greens, candied yams, spaghetti, cornbread dressing, German chocolate cake & his number 1 favorite peach cobbler. Service was extremely excellent! Lady forgot to add my 2 peach cobblers. After going back to inform of the mishap, the owner just so happen to be there & serviced my peach cobbler not from the fridge but went into back served me fresh hot peach cobbler for the inconvenience. Thank you for making my dad's day of sorrow joyous memories delightful enjoying his favorite good eats. Will definitely be back again & forever my #1 soul food spot

Great portions and food was nice and fresh. I got 2 dinners. Meatloaf with yams and macaroni were delicious. My daughter got chicken with macaroni and yams and a side of greens. The greens were a bit bitter for us, but other than that we were pleased and will return.

First, I want to thank Sam for replacing my meal because I previously bought two meals; one on a Sunday and again on the following Friday and both times my food was cold. I went back today, but nothing has changed as far as the temperature of their food. My greens were cold and the macaroni and cheese was cold and they gave me the scraps. My biggest disappointment was with the cashier. When I arrived, she was eating at the counter. I added a slice of cake to my order and she did not wash her hands before getting the container so I asked her to cancel the cake. However, I felt compelled to let her know why I changed my mind, but she acted as if I was the one with the problem. I really do not understand why so many people in the restaurant business "DO NOT WASH" their hands before preparing food. Trust and believe that it does not only happen at Detroit Soul.
