I got the veg pasty & veg samosa DANG! THOSE WERE GREAT! The pasty was flaky n buttery was like a handheld pot pie ?? The veggie curry was pretty good I wasnt really in the mood for it tbh, my friend loved his buttered chicken. I'm going back tonight for more pasty's!! YUM!!
Used to love this place. But the food is just not what it used to be. The chicken was dried out. And seems to be precooked. Then just back added to the dish. Sad this place was pretty good at first. But there are much fresher tastier places around.
One of the best indian restaurants with delicious foods and satisfactory services.
Ordered the mixed meat platter for $45. It was enough to feed 5-6 people well. Requested “hot” for spice level but there was no heat at all. The seekh kabobs felt a little undercooked. The chicken tikka was very bland and had no flavor. The food also had a weird smell as if it was a little old and not prepared fresh.
I don’t usually even go through the troubles of leaving bad food reviews bc having spent 15 years working in the food service industry I understand a lot goes into food and so many different things could go wrong. Yet tonight I ordered dinner for my girlfriend and I and it was unequivocally the worst Indian we’ve ever had. My Tikka Masala was watery, flavorless and a waste of money. The sauce seemed to be lacking really any seasoning, and any thickness that cream usually affords it—kind of crazy that i’ve had this dish here and it tasted so different. Her Sog Poneer was so bad she only got a few bites into it before telling me she thought something was wrong with it. The sog often spelled saag tasted spoiled, like canned spinach had been held over for several days and reheated. I’ve never tasted any Indian food quite like it. We’ve eaten with Masala 4 or 5 times and never experienced anything off, but this was so bad we will never be back. If you live in the city I advise you to make the drive to Pulkari Punjabi Kitchen, MayaBazaar, Noorjahan Indian Grill, etc. even if they’re a ways away.
Awesome customer service! It was my first time and reading the reviews I was excited! They gave me 20% off and a free can of pop! Excellent food. The garlic Naan is excellent by itself! I'll definitely be back!
Best Indy in Detroit, imho. Fresh, good quality ingredients create the authentic flavor that warms the soul and boosts metabolism! Though, don’t expect much leftovers as portions are on the lean side, (for the price), in my opinion … but I ❤️ Masala! It’s good medicine!
The Chicken Manchurian Dry was wet and soggy. The were like the frozen breaded chicken tossed in sauce and left to sit. The Curry Lamb (tasted like beef) didn't have any salt. The Lamb Vindaloo (tasted like beef) had one piece of tomato in the whole container. The meat in both was very tough. I've never eaten bad Indian food. I spent $60 here and only ate the Samosas (Choked it down. They were greasy) and the rice (cooked perfectly).
I’ve ordered takeout twice - the butter chicken & chicken tikka masala - both really delicious, and good portion sizes. They are also super nice! Will definitely be ordering from here consistently
Best North Indian in Detroit city limits. The Malai Kofta is one of my favorites. The chicken wrap is unreal! Such a good value. The online ordering system is flawless, it's always fresh and quick. This place is the go-to when you're craving Indian.
