Let me tell you.... this bar was the savior of my night. I'm not from Detroit and I had uber'd to another bar originally only to arrive and it was closed. I quickly regrouped and remembered there was another pretty close. I called them to ensure they were indeed open, Joe answered the phone and confirmed. I arrived and ordered my drink. Joe was attentive while not being overbearing or cumbersome. I told him I'd just awakened because I'd been working overnights here and kinda had to scramble for a bar and that I'd originally uber'd to a bar that was closed. Having learned this Joe let me know he was closing down in enough time to order my Uber BEFORE he shut down. I walked outside when my Uber was getting closer and Joe opened the side door to be able to watch me until my Uber arrived. The level of genuine caring and overall compassion for another person he'd never met until today was truly beautiful to me. I think we could all be a little more like Joe ? (not to mention I sat at the bar how many others were happy to have Joe there and I soon learned why)
Huge original created burgers with a great side open air dining. Get there early or during off times to get an outside seat.
Dive bar with immense character, two GOOD jukeboxes, good prices, pinball, video games.
They have the BEST Burgers here!! All Great Great Great Food! The service was just ok, we must've came at a bad time.. but I say try it just because the food is delicious!!
One of the best dive bars in Detroit, with shockingly good pub food. Their Bronx burger is a monster classic burger, and their BLT is top-notch... but don't sleep on their "Clean Veggie Machine", one of the best vegetable sandwiches you can find in the area.
First time here and was treated to this lunch. Great experience and the cook and my bartender were very cool. The Black Label shot almost out me under. Plan to return with friends and enjoy the atmosphere.
I'm not usually a burger person, I get one once in a while and I'm whatever about it. The menu isn't extensive so we just ordered burgers and drinks before our show at the theatre. I'm now a burger person, but really only from here. It was at least an inch thick, cooked perfectly (I only like them well done, hubby's was medium), seasoned perfectly and served on a really fantastic homemade bread bun, which took the whole thing to another level. You can dress it any way you want. It's really big, you don't need anything to go with it. Drinks were reasonable priced and the atmosphere is typical local bar. No tv that we saw and decent music. I'd like to try it again when the weather warms up and the side is open. Staff was efficient, nothing fancy, fit the atmosphere.
Really great food. They have the best BLT. The burger, and chicken sandwich are also solid choices. There's a pool table. Drinks are good, seating is usually alright but can get tight on the weekends.

This is my second trip to the Motor City. I discovered this joint three years ago, immediately bonded with the place. Terrific bar grub, clean taps, great staff. I’d almost make the trip from NYC just for this place.
