First time at this restaurant and it did not disappoint. Our server was exceptional. She was very personable and offered great recommendations. And The food was delicious! Definitely will go back again!
This was close to our hotel and the menu looked intriguing, so we gave it a try. We're so glad we did! After days of heavy meals we wanted something a bit lighter, which we accomplished by treating the appetizers as tapas and also getting a salad. But if you want a heavier meal, there are plenty of good looking entrees on the menu. We appreciated that the booths had high plexiglass around three sides. The space was open and airy, with good air handling . The food was top quality and imaginative. We had the pulled lamb shoulder with a pomegranate reduction, the calamari, the grilled octopus, and the village salad. All were excellent and wonderfully spiced--flavorful, but also subtle. The service was attentive while never being in your face. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in Detroit.
It was a great experience! We shared lots of appetizers and a salad for a very reasonable cost especially given how delicious everything was! Our server was also fantastic!

The food was great and the portion sizes weren't too small. I definitely walked out feeling full. We went earlier than the main crowd and it was much quieter than when we left around 9. I would definitely recommend BESA and I plan on going back.
