We were in Detroit for the 2022 NCAA D1 Wrestling Championships and wanted to eat the local cuisine. Athens Souvlaki Detroit should be voted the BEST GREEK RESTAURANT in Detroit!! The gyro sandwich was so mild and tender, the Greek salad was perfectly seasoned, and the white bean soup was melt-in-your-mouth good! One waitress took care of the entire restaurant, and she was working so hard, she tripped on the rug and fell! Our table busser work quickly and efficiently on his first day at the job! I told the owners what great employees they had and left our waitress a $20 tip! I was however very disappointed that the 2 times we went back to eat there, the restaurant was closed! But thank you Athens Souvlaki Detroit! What a gem of a restaurant!! :+)
I had the gyro bowl for the first time and thought it was really good. I've had the stuffed grape leaves and lemon rice soup several times and think this trio is my go-to order now from Athens.
Was at a table for 30 minutes and no one waited on me .the waiters ignored me, got up and left

Yesterday we were in Detroit for an exhibit at the TCF Center. We were headed to another place for lunch when we walked by Athens and since we love Greek food decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. I had the vegetarian gyro and my partner had the lamb. Both were delicious. The beets with yogurt sauce and pita was delicious too. The navy bean soup was so savory. The service was excellent. Staff were friendly and very attentive. Food came quickly. The portions were generous and the prices were very reasonable.

I highly recommend this restaurant! George was very helpful and accommodating with scheduling a team lunch for me and my coworkers. We were provided the back bar area to sit separate from the main dining room. We placed our order in advance online and the food came out timely and efficiently. The food and service was excellent as always. Thank you!

They make the Pita bread from scratch. It is OUTSTANDING. Everything about this sandwich is delicious. My mouth waters just thinking about the their Gyro's and Greek salads. I live in Florida now. I can't find any Greek restaurant that can even come close to Athens Souvlaki. Not one of them make any of the food from scratch. I am looking forward to my next trip to Detroit. My first stop will be here.
