Amazing pastries. Price is a bit high for some things, but they’re a definite must have when downtown. Easy to get something to share, and bring it in the cute box they give you and walk down to Hart Plaza to relax in the grass and have dessert.
I do like Astoria, don't get me wrong... They have a lot of good things..(royal oak one I go to more often).. However, while in Detroit today, my boyfriend was being nice and brought me home a piece of carrot cake, tonight .. carrot cake is my absolute favorite and I have had many different kinds.. not sure if I'm missing something but THIS carrot cake, tasted like bad carrot bread with flavorless icing...sooo not good. I have never had a bad carrot cake until today. I mean, if this is like a healthy vegan no sugar added something or another, I suppose that would make sense. I do not recommend this if you're a carrot cake lover. Even my boyfriend tried it because he likes carrot cake too and neither of us could even finish one piece! Next time, I'm going back for something that has some flavor!
A delightful afternoon tea with my grandchildren. So many selections! The chocolate eclair and chocolate torte extreme were delicious!
The place to go for when you’re craving baked goods and don’t want everyday donuts or pastries mass produced that sit inside a box at the 7-11. These baked goods are works of art that are tasty and worth the visit!
I was excited to try this place because of all the great reviews. Unfortunately, the baklava I got was dense and not flaky. All of the phyllo pastry layers were mashed together into a clump. Overall disappointing.
This place has been a staple of Greek Town. Unfortunately the quality of the pastries has gone further down hill every year. Though very appealing through the glass case, stick to the ice cream.
this is one of the best place I ever visited.. the ambiance is nice, the people inside is friendly and most specially the pastries and coffee. very worth it.
Pretty good pastries and desserts. Wonderfully patient staff. Great prices and they are open late.If you are in Greek Town make sure to stop by. The tiramisu is average, but the cinnamon rolls and canoli's are outstanding.
Usually the place is generally packed ( photos were taken on a Monday evening) especially on the weekends, but worth the wait. There deserts are fresh and deliciously decadent. Clean and friendly and knowledgeable staff. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Downtown Detroit via Greek Town.
Pictured are: Lemon pound cake muffin, chocolate Canoli, carmel Apple cheesecake, peanut butter mud pie and pecan pie. They give you a spare bag and tissue paper in the box. Parking not fun but with flavors like these who cares! They have macaroons, pretzels sticks covered in all kinds coatings. Key lime pie miniatures, sweet potato pie miniatures, meringues half dipped in chocolate. Have one person stand in line to look through the display cases then switch and let other person look . This place is busy, staff is patient and efficient. The patrons are as diverse as the desserts and its all for the common goal of good eats.?
