The vibe here is real. Just a fantastic place to work or relax and chat. The coffee and baked goods will make you never want to go to Starbucks again.
Anthology is hands down one of my favorite coffee spots that I’ve experienced in the world. I have always had a great experience from the old tasting room to the new cafe location. The online purchasing process is also a great experience. My orders have always been correct and shipped/ delivered in a very timely manner. Josh and the crew are always willing to lend their knowledge when asked. Absolute gem with the uniquely Detroit feel.
I was in Detroit a few months ago for work and visited Anthology when they were selling their holiday gift set that included 30g whole bean servings of 12 different coffees. I've been working my way through them (trying to pace myself!) and they are some wonderful, flavorful coffees. Many so good that I am truly sad there aren't full bags available for me to go back and get. I can't wait until the end of this year because I'm hoping to be able to buy this year's set online and get it shipped.
I think I liked the atmosphere of the shop more than the coffee lol. The coffee itself wasn't bad, just tad butter for my liking. Just got an iced coffee with soy milk. The plants and large floor to ceiling windows though are so so beautiful!!
First let me say: great place! Not sure what the bad reviewers were expecting. This is a place for coffee enthusiasts, and it may be a little hipster and goofy. I don't think it comes off as snobby... but it's made for geeking out about coffee. You can't go here expecting it to be like a starbucks. If you aren't that interested in the details of your coffee, and you just want a place to work with some caffeine involved, then move on instead of writing a negative review. Just let it go and let us goofy hipsters enjoy our nerdy coffee experience. And of course a place like this won't be cheap, if you want cheap, go somewhere cheap, it's common sense.Anyway, the staff was kind to me. The drinks were delicious and I decided to buy a bag of beans. It's cool to have a place like this in Detroit, it can compete with some of the best coffee roasters I've found anywhere.
A lovely space with lots of natural light and great coffee. They clearly take pride in the quality of coffee they serve here. Side note—there aren’t many charging outlets so make sure your laptop is topped up if you plan on working on devices while here.

*Edited, apparently my reviews aren't that great lol.Nice little shop by Eastern Market.Hosted a Jeep get-together there and everyone seemed to really enjoy it.
It’s a nice little coffee shop, if you’re in Detroit then this coffee place should be on your bucket list. The coffee here is one of the best I’ve had so far and I would suggest to try out the Latte. There’s nice place to sit and relax. You can have your friends accompany you or it’s also a nice place to sit and have some me time.
Friendly staff and great coffee. The food selection was limited to a couple different types of cookies (which were good!). I just ran in and out but the space is cool. It’s inside of a coworking building that used to be a loading dock. Very interesting history!
