Chef and his wife could not have been any more welcoming or helpful. We enjoyed our chips and all the condiments immensely, and had fun sampling all the squeeze bottles of sauces. The street corn was fantastic as were the fajita bites. And how could I forget my Hawaiian Lava cocktail? It was delicious. We shared the surf and turf tacos and loved them. Had a great conversation with Chef about his vision for his dishes and his respect for his central Mexican heritage and the flavors he uses. Our only regret is we were too full for dessert. We’ll definitely go back when we visit from Ontario again.
Very enjoyable experience. The food was wonderful and creative as well as tons of choices. We have never witnessed an establishment with such a complete bar. There’s another one upstairs that’s just as cool. The chips and salsa appetizer was wonderful and served with four great salsas. The only Mexican restaurant we’ll be going to from now on. You must make reservations. Only 18 and up. Another reason we loved the experience. Go. ?
We loved our dining experience here. Food was great. Best chips and salsa ever. Had their watermelon drink and it was great. Great service. We’ll definitely be back.
NO BLACKS ALLOWED should be the sign in their window. In todays world its shocking of the blatant racism of some establishments! Myself and another black man entered the M Cantina on a Sunday in Dearborn Mi during Ramadan. The restaurant was absolutely empty with only one customer sitting at the bar. Not understanding why this was a reservation only establishment due to the lack of customers inside. We expressed our name of our reservation and informed the hostess we were roughly 30 minutes early. She said acknowledged this also and replied we would need to wait until an additional server arrived to serve us due to them only having one working server at the moment. This puzzled me because scanning the room there was not one customer occupying any tables. Noticing plates of food on the table we assumed the employees must have been having the meal on the table. We agreed to wait and asked to be seated at a table. At this point another employees emerged with a very unwelcoming attitude and said we could not sit at any open tables to wait and we needed to wait at the bar. Her attitude clearly did not want us in their restaurant. It was as if they were afraid of us being in the restaurant with no people.
I’ll be totally honest, I have given this place multiple chances, and multiple chances too many. The very first time I ever called, I got the most rude response until she found out I had never been there before and that turned quick. The second time, we reserved for a certain time and “tried” to contact us to cancel our reservation cause they didn’t have enough staff. We didn’t get the notification and she was SO rude when we walked in that once she sat us we decided to just get up and leave. The third time, we made a reservation for 2 adults and 1 kid. Not realizing it now is for 18 and up.So they don’t have staff? Have to limit seating because no staff. And now they don’t allow kids? Can anyone go in there anymore? So now I’ll never go in because now I need a babysitter. The one star is for the food but yeah not worth the hassle or my time. Lots of other places have great service and great food.
Gabriel was very kind along with our server Heidi who gave us excellent suggestions. I was surprised the chips and salsa were not complimentary but I guess all the squeeze bottle salsa’s are. The drinks and tacos were delicious. This is a nice restaurant for an occasional visit.
One of our favorite restaurants in the area. An excellent halal, Mexican restaurant with a number of amazing dishes. A great option in the area. Although more expensive than some other options in the area, it’s been worth it every time we’ve gone. They also offer a great selection of “mock tails” as well as a variety of different in house hot sauces that are great with every part of the meal. Highly recommend!
We are so very pleased! Heidi started our experience off amazing!! She Knew exactly what she was talking about. Knew the menu like the back of her hand and answered all our questions. She Recommend the hands down best tacos!!! We’ll definitely be back.
We are always well taken care of and the menu is delicious. Cocktails are top shelf quality and the food is exceptional. This restaurant is a hidden gem in my book.
AMAZING!!! Thank you to the fabulous chef who is beyond talented & skilled at putting all the ingredients together in the most incredibly balanced way to form some perfect bites of food. All the sauces we tried were great and each had its own flavor profile. I'm so happy we finally made it in. I can't wait until our next trip to try even more. (We had chips & quad, ceviche, esquites, and four types of tacos. It was all delicious!!) ❤
