Haven't reviewed a place for a while; but as I've gone twice in the last six months, I thought it would definitely be good to give a thumbs up on this place specifically for the authentic Syrian dishes AND the food service!
Really delicious home made food. The meat pies were so fresh and flavorful. Really yummy hummus and grape leaves
This is our favorite cuisine to dine in when we miss Aleppo and the food we used to eat there.. they never disappointed us so far ( we have been customers for probably 10 years or so) if you love Syrian food this is your to go place.. i only wish they hire someone to clean the restrooms and the dining area more
Best Syrian food in Michigan, perhaps in the entire county. The very hard to find muhammara is the star of the meal with its smoky flavor and robust undertones. It just never stops being delicious from start to finish! Their baba ghanoj is one of a kind! It's always an incredible meal at this restaurant.
I’m slightly Shocked at all these positive reviews. This was my first time there. I don’t mind hole in the wall restaurants usually they have the best food- however, walking in I noticed it looked dirty to me- the floors, bathroom, salt n pepper shakers. There was only one other customer in the restaurant at the time . We sit down and I kid you not we were not offered anything to drink the whole time we were there. Our waitress or possibly owners wife was nice but if she is an actual waitress she needs major training. I never in my life have experienced not being offered something to drink while at a restaurant. . We ordered our food which Was mediocre. I ordered chicken Shawarma platter with barely any chicken. Maybe the size of my palm/ 2oz of chicken- I will say I did like the taste of the chicken but the rice was dry/bland. Husband ordered a sandwhich of some sort. On the menu It stated my meal was $15 but when we received the bill it was $18. Slightly pricey if you ask me with not that much food being offered. Kids plate was $8. Again a little bit more than other places. Plus an extra random $2 charge. Didn’t bother asking why. Don’t think i will return.
The best middle eastern food in town , hands down . It was my first time there to try it . I was amazed how great the taste , the freshness , the authenticity of the food , no comparison to it all . If u like middle eastern food , u will love el chabab. The service is quick .. and very friendly people . 5 stars . The pics will say it all
Food was amazing. Especially the lamb head, kabobs, and spicy hummus. However, when it came to paying, the prices were incorrectly advertised on the menu (print out new menus instead of just writing the new price in, which I did not see). Furthermore, I was charged $2 for water that cost 20 cents at a grocery store. I dont know why they cant just provide that water as this is Detroit, not Damascus. Also, there was a homeless guys squatting in the bathrolm and he stank. The service was otherwise great. The restaurant appeared to be operated by a husband and wife and the wife who served me was very friendly and gave me a whole large aluminum tray to take home. However, because I was charged $6 more than expected, I did not tip (I would've tipped about that amount otherwise). The only reason I still gave the restaurant 4 stars is because it was the best food I've eaten in the United States in my 25 years of living here. I might come here again, but Im going to bring my own water and ask about the prices before ordering.
One of, if not the best Syrian food that I ever had. The restaurant is run by a lovely family and everyone is super friendly. We had amazing food and service
Best experience I have in Michagen. Their grill stuff is the best + lamb head. For sure I'll come back. Also, the service is perfect
The food was delicious. They gave us free hummus and fattoush salad and their recommendations were mostly amazing. The mansaf and intestines in broth were amazing. The cherry kabob was nice but the sauce was far too sweet. That being said, worth going back to for sure. I can't wait to send people there
