Finally made it out to this spot after all the hype of social media like fb, IG, YouTube and Twitter. Right off the bat, this food gave me sajj Mediterranean vibes from the West Coast, California. Now onto the food, menu is quite simple and basic. You have beef or chicken, wraps or bowls tummeric rice, assortment of veggies and soda drinks from a soda machine. This location is new and recently as of 2021. I didn't get a chance to make it out to their opening but getting my shot now. Ordered a beef n chicken combo with rice, pita bread, tomatoes, olives and their famous white rice. First thoughts after first bite, not bad but I didn't see the major hype. Keep in mind, I have a very calibrated taste to any Mediterranean food and my standards are high..so I call it how it is. Not to say the food was horrible but I didn't see the mega hype you hear online. Prices are on par for this type of food with Chipotle style of selection..fun fact, Chipotle is next door..lol The service was quick, they have indoor seating, take out and services like door dash plus plentiful parking. The place was very clean which is a big deal for me. Overall, as my first time I had a solid experience but slightly above average in the food department just not like wow'd
Foods are delicious. I used to live in NYC so I know about the food taste but quantity should be improved to compare with NYC 6th ave store.Nice n friendly crew member.
Happy that we have our very own Halal Guys in the D but NYC 53rd&6th Cart is on a whole another level altogether. The Service at the Dearborn Location is decent but their chicken tastes more like Shawarma chicken with Garlicky flavor rather than the chicken you get in other Cities.
first time trying halal guys, and it was good! I did like how they had the option to get a small bowl than the super large one.
Must try?Regular size Falafel platter (Vegetarian)White sauce and red sauce?Good customer service ?
As a New Yorker, I can tell you this is Michigan’s great attempt at the halal cart chicken over rice. The chicken and rice was pretty bland. The saving grace is the white sauce. I am glad to have experienced it but I’m not sure I would return. ?. Also, I would ask that they try to handle the food better. I found something blue (possibly some packaging) in my food.
The food was amazing. My husband picked up the food today and I had it for the first time. The portions are big for the price. This is my new favorite lunch spot.
The food is amazing , especially the white sauce.. always been wondering why halal guys have not made it to detroit before given that the largest middle eastern community resides here.. the flavour is explicit and made me feel nostalgic and took me back to the memory of my first time having this platter back in new york.. the falafel is extra crispy and yummy.. the service is fast and menu is quick and short. Would definitely come back.
Never had halal guys before this. Food was good.
Food was good but for the surrounding area, lots of places trump this. Chicken was okay. Rice was bland. My favorite part was the gyro meat, had a lot of flavor especially with the white sauce.
