Staff needs education on safe food handling and hygiene practices. Watched the guy working the grill walk out in the lobby to refill his drink, touching the TV remote, drop stuff on the floor picking it back up, on his phone, going back into the kitchen wrapping and expediting people’s food with the same pair of gloves on. Gross
Usually love Mancinos. But tonight had a huge piece of hair in my daughter's grinder, after driving home 20 minutes. The manager tells me if I don't drive back and show them they won't do anything.
Ordered take out. They called everyone else to pickup their order as we waited patiently for 30 minutes roughly. Decided to ask about the order and found out it was sitting in the window for who knows how long. The only good place around here now I have no desire to revisit.
I've been to this location and the location in Dewitt a few times this year. By comparison, the Dewitt location is miles above the Battle Creek one in terms of customer experience. What that tells me is: its down to management or ownership why the Battle Creek location is so awful. Every time I have visited the Battle Creek location I've ordered the same grinder (the same one I've ordered from Mancino's all over the state since 1996) and it's never the same sandwich. Either not enough of the ingredients you want (cheese, meats) or too much of the ingredients you don't (mayo, lettuce). The last visit, the bread was noticeably stale. STALE bread from a restaurant who's whole schtick is making bread fresh daily! Contrast that to Dewitt, the sandwich lives up to expectations and is consistently great. Steer clear from the Battle Creek Mancino's, it's not really a Mancino's, just pretending to be one.
Nice clean place. Everything tasted good. I wouldn't call the food fancy, but it isn't very expensive either. I'd say it'sa good value for the money, especially considering the current inflationary environment.
Last time we got it the bread was half as wide as it should have been. Waiting time for a sub was way to long. Love the grinders but will not wait that long even called ahead of time and still waited 20 to 30 minutes more. Not worth the wait.
Disappointed! Picked up Chicken Nachos to go and the cheese and nacho chips were both so hard. Shredded cheese was hard like melted plastic and chips were hard like they used stale chips. Although I've never had chicken nachos from this restaurant, I've had shredded cheese nachos before. Unfortunately, they baked "my" order of nachos wayyyy too long. I live less than 10 mins away. Customer service lady asked me have I ever had their nachos before and was told I should have consumed them when they were hot. If not, the cheese would get hard. When asked if I could get my order re-made, I was told with an attitude no you just need to order for dine in next time. I even asked if I could exchange for a sandwich. No lunch for me, just fresh lettuce, tomatoes and olives on hard chicken nachos today. Overall the nachos look great, but definitely poor customer service. If I could give them no stars I would. I'm sure they could afford to give rotten customer service since there are only a few places worth eating at here in Battle Creek.
I like the rib steak, husband likes the Italian combo. Haven't tried to he pizza yet. Have tried the Bannister, the Ruben, and the french dip. The was salter then I like but still good.
They need to pay close attention to the order, and make sure it is right. We had 2 grinders come out wrong and 1 kids personal pizza come out wrong
So unfortunate! Staff in the kitchen carry around bowl of food eating and talking near food assembly areas. They know they can be seen by the costumers, so they comically walk behind a stack of pizza boxes to shove food in their mouth so some customers can’t see them eating or stand behind yet another person standing around talking. I counted five employee cups with beverages in them on the food prep counter all around the meat slicer. They go take a drink then return to their duties.If you cannot control good food prep etiquette at least make sure people are not able to see it.I have worked food service in a kitchen and know this should not be happening…This place has much to be desired with its current team. Needs to be trained, or have people who care just a tiny bit more.Very disappointed…. This place cannot hold a candle to other Mancino's around MI.Food quality and freshness has declined VERY noticeably.Prices went through the roof and are ridiculous as the quality fell through the floor and keeps on this trend…
